Position Overview
Casting Operator is responsible for applying the appropriate paste to grids, create plates that help battery hold its charge. Additionally, Casting Operator loads raw materials into machines and manually moves materials from and to machines.
Areas of Focus
Casting operator will comply with blood lead health and hygiene protocols, comply with hazards communication procedures and must follow all ergonomic recommendations and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
Level III
• Can perform all assigned functions of Level I and II
• Assist with training as needed
• Assists Supervisor/Lead in assigning work crews and various department operations (deliveries, transfers, ovens, data collection)
• Collaborates with QC, Maint, Eng, Sched, Mgr to assist and/or implement programs related to various process improvements
• Complete hourly CTQ data collector
• Ability to perform mold and trim die changes
Basic Qualifications
• High School Diploma
• Ability to work in a lead acid battery manufacturing plant
• Six months - 2 years of manufacturing/plant experience
Ability to work in extreme temperatures and heavy environment
• Must be clean shaven
• Ability to use hand tools and learn specific machine controls, gauges, etc
