THE ROLE

PlayOn! Sports is looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Cash Accountant to join our finance team. The Cash Accountant will be responsible for accurately managing and recording all cash transactions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Additional responsibilities and accountabilities for this role include:

• Cash Management: Maintain accurate records of all cash transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.

• Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with internal records on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

• Cash Forecasting: Assist in forecasting cash flow needs and maintaining appropriate levels of liquidity to meet operational requirements.

• Financial Reporting: Providing insights into cash movements and variances as needed for the FP&A team.

• Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls related to cash handling and reporting.

• Documentation: Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation of cash transactions and related procedures.

• Communication: Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, treasury, and accounts payable/receivable, to resolve any issues or discrepancies in cash transactions.

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements in cash management procedures.

• Audit Support: Assist in providing documentation and support for internal and external audits related to cash transactions.

• General Ledger: Assist with General Ledger reconciliation as Cash responsibilities are mastered. 

• Ad-hoc Analysis: Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management.

THE PERSON

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Proven experience (3 years) working as a Cash Accountant or in a similar role.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and cash management practices.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recording financial transactions.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements
