DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Reporting to the Clinical Supervisor, the Independent Living Specialist is responsible for all aspects of an assigned caseload of tenants living in the program. Specific duties are focused around helping tenants maintain housing stability and include assisting with applications and re-certification for entitlements; providing linkages and referrals to community resources such as vocational, medical, mental health, and/or substance abuse services; and providing supportive counseling. The Independent Living Specialist will also make regular visits to tenant apartments to ensure a safe and secure environment in compliance with guidelines. 


HOURS: 

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week 

  • Sunday-Thursday 9am-5:30pm
  •  Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5:30pm

QUALIFICATIONS: 

BA preferred. At least three years relevant experience and HS diploma/ GED required. Experience working with the substance abuse and/or mentally ill population required. Basic computer literacy required. CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR.

Skills Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least three years relevant experience
