As a Capital Equipment Sales Specialist, you will manage and grow an assigned Northern California territory by developing relationships with municipal customers, consulting engineers, contractors, and equipment manufacturers. This role is focused on engineered process equipment sales, including identifying opportunities, influencing specifications, supporting project development, preparing proposals, and helping customers select the right technical solution.
What you'll do:
- Manage and grow sales opportunities within an assigned Northern California territory.
- Build strong relationships with municipal owners, plant staff, consulting engineers, contractors, and manufacturer partners.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate water and wastewater treatment equipment solutions.
- Support the full sales cycle, including prospecting, project development, budgeting, specification influence, proposal support, order coordination, and post-sale follow-up.
- Conduct in-person customer visits, site walks, technical presentations, and product demonstrations.
- Track customer activity, opportunities, and project updates in QuickBase.
- Maintain strong knowledge of MISCOwater’s represented product lines and the broader municipal water/wastewater market.
- Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory, with occasional overnight travel.
What you bring:
- 5+ years of experience in the municipal water/wastewater industry, engineered equipment sales, plant operations, consulting engineering, construction, or a related technical field.
- Strong mechanical or technical aptitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively with plant staff, engineers, contractors, and manufacturer representatives.
- Comfortable managing multiple opportunities, deadlines, and customer relationships.
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout Northern California.
- Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
- Prior sales experience with engineered process equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, construction management, business, or a related field.
- Experience using CRM software; MISCOwater uses QuickBase.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary range: $135,000–$165,000

The salary range listed represents the expected base salary for this role. Final compensation will depend on experience, education, skills, and location. This position also includes an uncapped commission structure.
Skills Required
- 5+ years experience within the municipal water/wastewater industry (working with or at treatment plants).
- Experience selling engineered process equipment.
- Comfortable traveling primarily in Northern California with occasional overnight stays; infrequent out-of-state travel for training and meetings.
- BS in Engineering or operator certification in water or wastewater, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong professional communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to close sales (effective closer).
- Mechanical/technical aptitude.
- Previous experience using CRM software (QuickBase).
- Valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
- Ability to thrive in a results-based environment.
