As a Capital Project Manager of Manufacturing, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and completion of expansion and strategic capital projects across the business units. You will play a critical role in managing installations, designing, implementing, executing all aspects of the capital expansion projects. This role manages the budgets, timelines, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery at each of our North American manufacturing locations. This role requires strong engineering skills and knowledge, project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in multiple locations.

The duties and responsibilities of the Capital Project Manager outlined below may vary based on the needs of the organization, include but are not limited to:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Identify key stakeholders and establish communication channels to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential obstacles.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to allocate resources effectively.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Procure necessary materials, equipment, and services to support project requirements.
  • Oversee the execution of capital expansion and critical maintenance projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, identify deviations from the plan, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with project teams to review milestones, address issues, and drive progress.
  • Communicate project status updates, risks, and dependencies to key stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve conflicts, prioritize tasks, and optimize project outcomes.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and monitor performance against established targets.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to evaluate outcomes, identify lessons learned, and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Prepare and present reports on project performance, including budget variance analysis, schedule adherence, and resource utilization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (ME/EE), construction management, and business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience managing capital projects, preferably in a large-scale manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop detailed project plans, manage budgets, and mitigate risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software applications.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and best practices in capital project management.
  • Leadership abilities, including the capacity to inspire and motivate project teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is desirable but not required.
