Job Title: Capital Portfolio Lead, Global Operations Engineering

Job Description

To achieve that potential, we must rapidly scale our manufacturing portfolio globally. As an integral component of this rapid development, which includes site expansions, greenfield/brownfield investments, and innovative technology development, we are seeking to enhance our talented team with a Capital Portfolio Lead.
Reporting to the Head of Global Operations Engineering, this role will be responsible for overseeing all projects and programs within the Global Operations Capital Portfolio. The successful candidate will provide input to Site/Facility Master planning and oversight for greenfield/brownfield design, engineering and construction of facility/start-up and commissioning for the entire capital deployment portfolio. Our current expansion plans include start-up preparations for over $1B in current capital assets across multiple projects in numerous countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Guarantee delivery of successful and cost-effective major capital expenditures projects by guiding the Global Operations organization on Best Practice for Capital Project Execution and delivery.
- Update the Capital Project Delivery processes within Global Operations. Own and maintain the Global Operations Capital delivery processes and its means and methods. Ensure harmonization and consistency of Capital Engineering across Galderma sites worldwide.
- In conjunction with Global Operations Leadership Team and Corporate Committee, enhance and streamline the Capital Project review, prioritization, and approval processes.
- Ensure that appropriate, risk-based governance of Capital Projects is implemented across the Global Operations CAPEX portfolio. Ensure that methodologies for risk identification and mitigation are understood and implemented.
- In conjunction with the Global Project Management Office (PMO) function, establish and maintain the Global Operations CAPEX Portfolio within the Global PMO platform.
- Lead the periodic review of CAPEX spending (actuals) and Latest Best Estimate and ensure that current and accurate spending and anticipated final costs are provided on an ongoing basis.
- In line with the company’s Manufacturing Strategy, develop, manage, and maintain the Global Operations Long Range and Medium Range CAPEX Plans.
- Enable start-up teams to develop and execute covering all aspects of site/facility charters, designs, construction and commissioning, qualification, and validation in keeping with Galderma’s standards for excellence and culture of innovation.
- Lead the development of Capital Project Management talent geared toward succession planning and career coaching/mentoring.
- Educates and contributes to Organizational upskilling on Capital Management by developing training plans for staff to ensure adequate training of all new and existing employees to maximum performance.
- Develop and maintain critical departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
- Ensure effective interdepartmental relationships to meet the assigned goals of the organization.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline or relevant field required. Master's Degree in an Engineering Discipline or a related field preferred.
- Extensive years of manufacturing engineering and / or operational experience with a proven record of accomplishment of overseeing large capital plans ($100M+), with demonstrated leadership in commissioning, qualifying, validating new sites in diverse operational environments (variety of products/size of facilities).
- Demonstrated ability to build/lead global teams and establish credibility and rapport in a highly matrixed environment.
- Excellent project and portfolio management skills, with emphasis on identifying requirements and articulating them successfully within project plans.
- Experience of working within a multi-stakeholder environment where competing needs must be managed effectively to deliver results.
- Demonstrated pattern of initiative and leadership required.
- Possess a record of successful experience in management of engineering projects that has produced successful documented results.
