Join us as a Capital Partners - Data Analyst
Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. (“BBH”) is currently recruiting a Data Analyst to join Data, Performance & Reporting team supporting Capital Partners. In this role you will be responsible for data review, correction and enrichment to ensure integrity of data used for performance reporting and ensuring Relationship Management teams are receiving required client service levels.
New hire will focus on utilizing the reporting system used by the team to review and reconcile performance for Capital Partner’ Unified Managed (UMA) and Separately Managed (SMA) Accounts. Daily work will include answering inquiries from Family Office Services relationship teams, as well as creation of monthly and quarterly reports to be sent to senior management and Marketing for further distribution. It may also involve “project” based initiatives.
Successful candidate will also help with process improvement and implementation, constantly looking for ways to make team’s workflows more efficient.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Performance reconciliation
- reconciliation of investments accounts against accounting system and Private Funds Portal. Responsibilities include reviewing and correcting account returns, fixing data breaks from missing or incorrectly posted transactions.
Private Investment reconciliation
- Enriching commitment based private investments by adding commitment amounts, correcting net capital calls and distributions by posting each side of transaction separately
- Correcting assignments of interests and secondary sale and purchases
- Reconciling unfunded commitments, total contributions, total distributions and recallable amounts to capital account statements
Data Enrichment
- Loading additional data attributes for reporting purposes
Innovation and Productivity
- Identify ways to improve productivity within department
Teamwork
- Develop key internal relationships to aid in resolution of client issues
- Promote team atmosphere through exhibiting leadership, effective communication and professionalism
- Work across departments and with internal and external clients to ensure quantity and quality standards meet or exceed expectations.
Desired Qualifications:
- BA or equivalent
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Ability to communicate professionally through effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, good problem-solving skills including escalation and leadership qualities
- Excellent attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Proactive self-starter who is goal-oriented
- Demonstrate risk awareness and ability to identify red flags
- Knowledge of Excel, MS Word and standard desktop applications
