About the job

Within our US Energy Division, you will provide an outstanding customer experience to our internal business partners and external customers. You will utilize multiple web-based order and design systems to enter and manage capital orders primarily for the Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger and Brazed Heat Exchanger product groups within the Energy Division. Currently, this is a Hybrid opportunity located in Richmond, Virginia.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Establish a working knowledge of all systems utilized in the order fulfillment process.
  • Monitor incoming orders to ensure they are booked in the appropriate time frame. 
  • Work directly with sales, Alfa Laval factories and the Customer to ensure that the scope of all orders is clearly understood.
  • Work with sales to ensure the correct customers and ALSIS dimensions are utilized.
  • Manage capital orders for heat exchangers and other capital equipment within the Alfa Laval product portfolio.
  • Serve as Liaison between Customers, Sales, and Operations. Interact with factories daily to ensure that purchase orders and documentation is flowing according to expectations.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with Sales and Operations to improve communications, order execution, order fulfillment processes. 
  • Collaborate with shared services to ensure correct accounting and to resolve invoice disputes.
  • Register and manage customer claims. Prioritize remedial actions needed to fix the problem for the customer.
  • Ensure all order backlog data in our systems is always accurate, including sales prices, order costs and ship dates.
  • Monitor gross margins and work with factories and sales to resolve any issues with costs.
  • Interface with our customer’s web portals to extract order and forecast information, process orders, and upload order documentation and invoices.
  • Work with Logistics and freight forwarders to coordinate export and import of goods from Alfa Laval factories to customers.

What you know:

You have Bachelors degree in business or technical field, and:

  • Prior experience working in a customer service role
  • Experience with entering and managing customer orders in an ERP system preferred
  • Working in a manufacturing, distribution or engineering environment a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Strong communication skills
