The Capital Markets team within Treasury-Finance supports Stripe’s mission by creating and leveraging efficient access to capital and financial markets. We source capital by developing and then executing the strategy for corporate and product-related financing transactions; we also manage global liquidity investments and mitigate interest rate and foreign exchange (FX) risk by developing and implementing risk-management strategies.
What You’ll Do
We’re looking for a creative, smart, and driven Associate to join our Capital Markets team. You will support core financing and investment activities of the team, help drive Stripe’s capital structure and capital allocation strategy, and deliver valuable insights from market analysis. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners across Treasury Finance, Investor Relations, Finance & Strategy, Accounting, Legal, Product, Data Science and beyond to execute on large projects.
You will
- Support execution of debt capital market transactions
- Produce and maintain financial models to forecast liquidity and credit position, funds available for investments, interest income and expense, etc
- Manage the debt covenant compliance process, financial ratio calculations, and assist with filing obligations
- Support operationalization and management of global liquidity investment programs
- Help foster positive relationships with lenders, investment bankers, rating agencies, and financial advisors
- Assist with stakeholder engagement activities, including lender meetings, calls, and events
- Provide analysis and ideas to optimize Stripe’s capital structure and capital allocation
- Monitor and report on capital markets, macroeconomic and industry trends
- Build management observability and deliver data insights relating to areas of responsibility
- Drive cross-functional projects in partnership with product, engineering, finance and/or legal teams
- Support as needed other Capital Markets projects and initiatives
Who You Are
You must meet the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
- 2-5 years of relevant corporate finance, leveraged finance, investment banking, credit or corporate treasury experience
- Solid understanding of credit agreements, capital structures, and financial covenants
- Familiarity with rating agency metrics, rating process and considerations
- Understanding of macroeconomic trends and how they impact markets
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to leverage data insights into a dynamic narrative
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with high attention to detail
- Top academic performer and a quick learner capable of performing in an unstructured environment
- High intellect and energy (exothermic), entrepreneurial, self-motivated, resourceful and strong work ethic
Preferred qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Math or equivalent and/or MBA from a strong academic institution
- Knowledge or experience with broader fixed income markets, including FX, interest rate derivatives, etc
- Interest in the payments sector
