About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Design Specialist with 8–12 years of experience to lead product design and development from concept to production. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mechanical design, product engineering, and cross-functional collaboration with sourcing, quality, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end product design and development for products and components.
- Develop manufacturable product designs aligned with customer requirements.
- Create and review 3D models, 2D drawings, assemblies, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
- Perform design validation, tolerance stack-up analysis, DFMEA, DFM, DFA, and GD&T.
- Collaborate with sourcing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless product industrialization.
- Work closely with customers to understand technical requirements and resolve design-related challenges.
- Coordinate with manufacturing partners during development.
- Understanding of product validation.
- Mentor junior design engineers and establish engineering best practices.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality guidelines.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related.
- Familiarity with sustainability, design optimization, and value engineering initiatives.
Skills Required
- Fasteners background (mandatory)
- 8-12 years of experience in mechanical design/product engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks
- Experience with GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design validation
- Experience performing DFMEA, DFM and DFA
- Experience creating/reviewing 3D models, 2D drawings, assemblies and BOMs
- Ability to collaborate with sourcing, quality, supply chain and manufacturing partners
- Experience mentoring junior design engineers and establishing engineering best practices
- Familiarity with sustainability, design optimization, and value engineering initiatives
