Role Overview
Coupang strong growth is expanding in Taiwan with large investments supported by IT, Processes and Tools transformation. This role will be central in supporting Taiwan’s team to deliver timely optimized Capex. The Capex Manager role will be critical in the management of a multi-million capex cost base. This role involves financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and decision-making to ensure that capital expenditures align with strategic objectives and financial health.
What will you do?
- Manage capital expenditure budget within financial and strategic goals
- Supervise and control project costs within budget and provide relevant recommendations to prevent cost overruns
- Conduct reviews of investment opportunities and potential returns by using financial metrics including
- NPV (Net Present Value), IRR (Internal Rate of Return), and payback period
- Analyze cost-benefit and sensitivity to support decision-making
- Support the annual capex investment planning process
- Support Operations in forecasting costs and tracking updates to provide transparency on costs for project owners
- Assist in month end and year end processes including PO and accrual review
- Present financial analysis and recommendations to senior management and explain complex financial concepts in a clear and understandable manner
- Work with Project Managers and the extended Finance team in HQ FP&A and in fulfillment and logistics centers to create timely reports used for weekly, monthly reporting and quarterly investment reviews
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience of reviewing and appraising Capex investment cases
- Strong financial modelling and Excel skills
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships across diverse teams and functions
- Strong communication skills to present financial analysis and recommendations to senior stakeholders (English required, Taiwanese desirable)
- Great attention to detail and willingness to work within a fast paced and demanding environment
- Highly analytical and structured, with ability to manage complexity
- Experience of financial management and delivery of improved financial performance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of working across a matrix organization [desirable]
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) [desirable]
- SAP / SQL / Power Query [desirable]
