Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) is looking for a results-driven candidate to join the Capacity Management team with the goal of ensuring critical applications supporting the organization have the appropriate amount of technology capacity. In this role you will partner with infrastructure platform teams, application development and SRE teams to manage and govern standard processes for planning and monitoring Capacity. As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. You apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications.
Job responsibilities
- Execute the daily activities supporting the standard Capacity process for the critical applications in the line of business.
- Partner with Application and Infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses of those risks.
- Assist partners with recommendations on Capacity plans, where needed.
- Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data/systems running at scale; and ensures end to end monitoring of applications.
- Partner with team to deliver improvement opportunities for the process, including automating monitoring data views to meet the needs of the stakeholders.
- Developing and analyzing data to create plans for scaling resources efficiently.
- Drive assessments for ad-hoc events where additional Capacity may be required to ensure systems are ready ahead of time.
- Drive the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications.
- Collect data from Capacity Planning's database infrastructure, compile and analyze data, produce, and deliver accurate and complete capacity reports.
- Provide reporting views and updates to stakeholders reflecting overall status of their portfolios.
- Drive capacity alignment between capacity planning tools and other tools & systems.
- Actively drive progress across multiple efforts in parallel, independently managing priorities and relationships with other teams to effectively deliver results.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 4 years related experience.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure disciplines such as: hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
- Results-driven individual who is passionate about quality and positive customer experience.
- Practical experience with managing or governing technology Capacity or other ITIL processes.
- Working knowledge of application's infrastructure KPI's (CPU, Memory, etc.) and monitoring tools.
- Experience with creating and leveraging dashboards (Grafana, Dynatrace, ELK,.) for visualization of data.
- Experience on business intelligence (BI) tools like Microsoft Power BI, Qlik, Tableau etc. that allow users to explore and analyze data from multiple sources.
- Experience managing the lifecycle of cross-functional projects, implementing automated equipment and/or integrated systems.
- Ability to navigate effectively, building partnerships with exceptional communication skills.
- Experience improving IT processes to maximize efficiency and create positive user experience.
- Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Go, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
- Experience on cloud technologies like AWS with and ability to Design, develop, and deploy secure and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Drives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency and automation knowledge.
- Experience with process and procedure documentation.
