Capacity and Supply Manager

What you will do

The Capacity and Supply Planning Manager leads the people, processes, systems, and analytical capabilities required to optimize supply and manage capacity throughout the supply chain network. This role is responsible for developing the medium and long term capacity plan that optimizes customer service, working capital, operational efficiency, and business objectives (0-10+ year horizon) The position leads the long-term capacity planning activities across manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and other stocking locations.

The Capacity and Supply Planning Manager works across Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Customer Service, Logistics, Manufacturing, Commercial, and Finance to identify risks, evaluate scenarios, and translate business requirements into executable supply plan for each facility. 

How you will do it

• Develop the consensus supply plan view for each facility that balances customer service, inventory investment, operational requirements, and supply chain cost.
• Lead scenario planning for evaluating different supply alternatives within the strategic planning horizon range (0-5 years).  Provide insight to inform long-term capacity addition decisions (5-10+ years)
• Participation in the annual strategic plan process.  Establish and update the capacity plan to align with the strategic plan (0-5 years).  Develop rough cut views of the long-range capacity plan (5-10+ years)
• Establish and maintain the organization consensus supply plan (or “firm up”) to achieve business objectives.  Participate in the development, and lead the deployment, of advanced technical planning tools to manage the consensus supply plan. 
• Collaborate with each facility to ensure the supply plan is achievable and incorporates a realistic view of capacity conditions, including new capacity expansions. 
• Ability to navigate complex scenarios with shifting demand and supply throughout the planning horizon (0-10+ years)
• Partner with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Logistics, Procurement, Commercial, and Finance to align inventory decisions with business priorities.

• Identify and analyze potential demand, supply, capacity, service, and inventory risks and opportunities.
• Drive resolution of gaps between inventory plans, supply availability, customer demand, and network requirements.
• Conduct and facilitate what-if analyses and scenario planning to evaluate alternative inventory, production, import, and level-loading strategies.
• Clearly communicate the risks, costs, service implications, and benefits associated with planning alternatives to support cross-functional decision-making.
• Recommend and lead improvements to planning processes, systems, data, reporting, organizational capabilities, and decision-making practices.
• Support the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning process by providing inventory projections, network constraints, scenario analyses, risks, and recommended actions.
• Participate in strategic projects such as product launches, product transitions, end-of-life planning, network changes, distribution-center changes, and supply chain transformation initiatives.
• Ensure planning assumptions, master data, inventory policies, and system parameters are accurate, documented, and consistently applied.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, urgency, disciplined problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

What we look for

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, Logistics, Analytics, or another related field.
• Five years of progressive experience in supply chain management, inventory planning, supply planning, distribution planning, demand planning, logistics, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated understanding of end-to-end supply chain planning and inventory-management principles.
• Experience leading employees, planning teams, or cross-functional supply chain initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues, alternatives, risks, and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience using enterprise resource planning systems, supply chain planning applications, reporting tools, or related technology.

Preferred

• Advanced degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field.
• APICS/ASCM certification, such as CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD.
• Experience in a complex manufacturing and distribution environment.
• Experience with SAP, QAD, or comparable enterprise systems and supply chain planning tools.
• Experience implementing or improving inventory optimization, advanced planning, network modeling, or analytical solutions.
• Experience supporting SIOP or integrated business planning processes.
• Demonstrated success improving planning processes, systems, reporting, inventory performance, or organizational capability.
