Role Overview
The Capacity Analyst is responsible for assisting the Capacity Manager to ensure there is adequate IT Capacity to meet required levels of service. This role involves conducting capacity analysis and reporting for client's infrastructure systems, servers, databases, storage systems, datacenter space, and other services.
The Capacity Analyst is responsible for (but not limited to):
- Facilitate data collection, consolidation and quality assurance of data for capacity reporting. Ensure the data collection process is streamlined and reviewed for improvements.
- Provide capacity reports timely, with accurate reporting of all capacity related issues to key stakeholders and clients.
- Perform basic analysis on capacity data.
- Follow-up with internal teams regarding capacity requests.
- Assist the Capacity Managers with data collections and analyses, and other tasks as required. Manage client requests for information or adhoc reports.
- Ensure that the client’s services and infrastructure can deliver the agreed capacity and
- performance targets in a cost effective and timely manner.
- Take reasonable care that their actions (or inactions) do not harm the Health and Safety of self or others. Reports all incidents, hazards or unsafe work practices as per Datacom policy.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- Basic understanding of IT architecture, including desktop hardware, enterprise applications, databases, storage, servers and networks
- Knowledge of various software and performance monitoring techniques
- ITSM framework and process knowledge for Capacity Management function and allied processes, including Change and Problem Management
- Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate Capacity Management toolsets
Demonstratable experience of reporting of capacity issues - Proven background of capacity analysis
