This role supports the Tactical Data Link (TDL) Configuration and Logistics (C&L) process by researching, developing, and maintaining technically approved information that enables warfighters, planners, and operators to understand system capabilities, limitations, interoperability considerations, and approved workarounds for USAF TDL systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Information Vetting: Distribute newly developed C&L material to the appropriate weapon system’s technical community for their agreement on its validity and relevance. This includes vetting by the weapon system’s Program Office or Program Office-assigned Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Technical Editing: Ensure all C&L information meets the agreed-upon C&L business rules, including ensuring proper security classification markings are applied to all material, as well as checking spelling and formatting for consistency and correctness.
  • Research, draft, and coordinate as required to develop interoperability reports for platforms that are included in the C&L Operator Research Tool.

  • Technical authoring and editing of C&L content using terminology and examples relevant to USAF combat operators.
  • Vetting technical content with weapon system Program Offices and Program Office-assigned Subject Matter Experts to ensure accuracy, validity, and relevance.
  • Application of C&L business rules, including proper security classification markings, formatting consistency, and technical correctness.
  • Development and coordination of interoperability reports for platforms included in the C&L Operator Research Tool.
