EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, is searching for an Assistant to join our Campaigns team. Our Campaigns Assistant will report to the Campaigns Manager on various projects to enhance the service we provide to our campaigns and facilitate communication throughout the organization.  They will also work to support our campaigns, candidates and advisors in day to day operations that support our ability to build stronger, scalable campaign operations. They will also work with the Campaigns Manager and other members of the campaigns team to ensure information flow between teams runs smoothly. 

 

The Assistant will work closely with the Campaigns Manager and Campaigns Coordinator on different projects, including briefing materials, creation and updating of internal department resources, and administrative support for senior leadership of the Campaigns team, including scheduling.

Essential Job Functions

  • Planning and maintaining the schedule for the Chief Campaigns Officer and Deputy Chief of Campaigns Officers for Federal and Gubernatorial and State and Local races; 
  • Draft and prepare election calendars, briefing materials, memos, reports, slides, and other resources for internal and external presentations for those members of Campaigns leadership; 
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of critical campaign information;
  • Update and disseminate staff maps, contact lists and other departmental updates throughout the organization;
  • Work with the Campaigns Manager to maintain numerous tracking databases and calendars; 
  • Support on endorsement processes and coordination of materials in alignment with projects assigned by the Endorsement Manager
  • Oversee logistical support for candidates when they are in DC and in the office, including being present in the office when these meetings occur; 
  • Work with Campaigns Manager to manage and prioritize projects for Campaigns interns;
  • Providing administrative assistance to Campaigns Senior Directors and regional staff as needed;
  • Give logistical and substantive support of presentations, events and department meetings as needed at the discretion of the Campaigns Manager;
  • Support on call time support for candidates as determined with the Campaigns Manager and Campaigns Coordinator, and in line with organizational priorities; 
  • Work with members of the department to keep Every Action and other databases clean and up to date;
  • Organize materials and information on the state and local online internal drive;
  • Assist with planning and logistical preparation for campaign trainings as needed;
  • Assist department with collecting information about state and other non-federal races and candidates as needed;
  • Track action items and follow up for teams and interdepartmental requests;
  • Staff candidates as needed;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Candidates for this position must be extremely detail-oriented, committed to discretion and confidentiality in the performance of their duties, and be calm and composed under pressure. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professionalism, and maturity are critical to success.
  • Candidates should be able to handle multiple projects at once, work well under deadline, and understand that evening and weekend work may be needed based on the demands of the election cycle. 
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential.  
  • Experience with EveryAction is a plus
  • Electoral experience, including volunteer or internships, is preferred. 
  • All candidates should possess commitment and passion to elect Democratic pro-choice Women, as well as a commitment to the diversity of our candidates, membership, partners, and staff.

The salary for this position is $55,000 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package. The starting pay for this position is equal to others at the same level throughout the organization. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted directly. No calls, please. 

Our office is based in Washington, DC. This position is based in the DC office with a hybrid schedule requiring at least 3 days per week in the office.
