The Role
Provide regulatory and technical administrative support for CAMO: maintain airworthiness records in tracking systems, audit tech logs and work packs to Part‑CAMO/Part‑145 standards, create maintenance work packs, manage technical library updates, clean and structure maintenance data using spreadsheets and off‑the‑shelf AI, and coordinate records between CAMO, flight ops and maintenance teams.
Summary Generated by Built In
The Technical Administrator provides essential administrative and operational support within the DEA UK CAMO department. At its core, this role delivers vital regulatory and technical administration to ensure continuous fleet airworthiness. The successful candidate will manage precision data entry and archiving - meticulously updating flight hours, cycles, and component changes within the DEA Airworthiness IT System. Key responsibilities include auditing physical and digital tech logs, pilot sector records, and completed work packs for absolute compliance, as well as issuing formal maintenance work packs under Part-CAMO standards. Additionally, the administrator will maintain the technical library by distributing manual updates and regulatory notices, whilst providing essential administrative support to the CAMO department and wider DEA team.
Reporting directly to the DCAM, the ideal candidate will be a tech-savvy administrator who is comfortable working with data, spreadsheets and logic. Rather than just performing manual data entry, this individual will utilise everyday, off-the-shelf AI tools - such as Gemini - to help sort data, clean up log information, and flag simple maintenance patterns. This ensures the DCAM receives clean, reliable data to help optimise fleet maintenance efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Core Records and Regulatory Administration
  • Data Entry and Archiving: Input and update flight hours, cycles, and component changes into our airworthiness tracking software, such as Veryon Tracking+ or Centrik.
  • Logbook and Work Pack Auditing: Review, verify, and file incoming physical and digital tech logs, pilot sector records, and completed maintenance work packs to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Work Pack Creation: Produce aircraft maintenance work packs and issue work orders in strict accordance with company procedures and Part-CAMO standards.
  • Technical Library Support: Organise and distribute updates for aircraft manuals, flight logs, and newly issued regulatory or airworthiness notices so the engineering team always possesses accurate data.
  • General Office Support: Assist with daily administrative tasks within the department and supporting the wider DEA team via CAMO support.
Smart Data Management
  • Logical Data Cleaning: Organise raw maintenance information logically into Excel or Google Sheets to ensure data is clear and structured for CAM/DCAM review.
  • Utilisation of Off-the-Shelf AI: Apply standard AI tools to quickly sort text, locate specific items within extensive maintenance descriptions, and draft summaries of repetitive defect logs.
  • Team Coordination: Act as a central point of contact between the CAMO team, flight operations, and the Part 145 maintenance crew to ensure the rapid transfer of records and paperwork.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential
  • Regulation.  A basic understanding of UK Aviation Regulation in the context of Aircraft Maintenance (Part-CAMO and Part-145).
  • Willingness to Learn: An openness to exploring and  mastering new software, aviation regulations, aircraft systems and digital tools to enhance departmental efficiency in a fast growing company.
  • Strong Administrative Capability: An ability to work in a technical but administrative role where accuracy, organisation, and the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure are critical.
  • Comfortable with Spreadsheets: Competence in Excel or Google Sheets, specifically regarding sorting data, filtering, using basic formulas, and maintaining structured sheets.
  • Tech-Savvy Approach: Comfort using exploring everyday digital tools and AI applications to solve problems, reformat unarranged text, or accelerate routine tasks.
  • Eye for Detail: High precision in data entry, with a natural ability to spot typographical errors, data discrepancies, or missing signatures.
  • Professional Communication: Clear, concise oral and written communication skills suitable for drafting reports and interacting professionally with engineers, pilots, and managers.
Desirable
  • High Degree of IT Literacy: Desirable for the candidate to develop into the CAMO Veryon Tracking+ super user over time.
  • Regulation. Prior experience working within a regulated environment, such as aviation, logistics, legal, or medical administration.
  • Technical Competence.  The role will be administering tasks relating to aircraft maintenance, so an outline ability to understand aircraft systems is highly desirable.
  • Software. Familiarity with standard aviation tracking software, digital archiving frameworks, or Part-CAMO operations and Competence across standard office tools (documents, spreadsheets and presentations systems).
  • UK Driver’s Licence. A current UK driving licence to accommodate occasional travel between operational sites.
