The Role
ON-CALL Senior Workforce Consultant - Commercial Energy Workforce Program

The Workforce Innovations, Emergency Preparedness and Poverty Solutions (WIPPS) practice provides strategic consulting support to commercial, state and federal energy organizations and federal and state workforce development agencies throughout the United States. The team provides rigorous technical assistance, training, and research support to address a diverse set of critical social issue areas including employment and workforce programs, health care emergency preparedness and critical infrastructure protection and planning, and economic mobility. Our work is done in a professional, collegial, and intellectual environment that allows individuals the latitude they need to perform work that parallels their passions.

Currently, we are seeking a candidate for an ON-CALL Senior Workforce Consultant to support a commercial energy workforce program. The successful candidate must be located in Georgia and will join our team in an on-call capacity.

* The position requires travel across the state of Georgia.

* THIS IS AN ON-CALL, part-time hours position based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide expertise and oversight of projects across our workforce development practice, notably in the energy efficiency, transportation and IT fields, including training and technical assistance, work-based learning program implementation and research and evaluation. 
  • Network and communicate with stakeholders around workforce development, economic development, work-based learning and apprenticeship, education and training, and other employment and economic strategies.
  • Lead capture and develop winning proposals to continue project growth across Federal, state and commercial clients.
  • Provide writing and presentation support across an array of deliverables, analyses, program trends/outcomes reports, and stakeholder publications/products.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in public policy, political science, economics, or related social services field; masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience providing Training and Technical Assistance to state workforce agencies, regional and local workforce entities, and employers.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with utility programs including commercial, industrial, and residential energy offerings.

 Professional Skills:

  • Demonstrated success in employer-driven workforce innovations, such as on-the-job training, registered apprenticeships, paid work experience, paid internships, dislocated worker and incumbent worker training.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an integrated team.
  • Demonstrated ability to verbally present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner.
  • Demonstrated experience showing strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills paired with a desire to take initiative.
  • Strong product development, writing, presentation and communication skills.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$89,649.00 - $152,404.00
