Position Summary:

This position will deliver a unique and engaging experience to all guests who dine at our café. This role will also deliver a positive guest experience while overseeing the daily operations of the café to include staffing, food quality, food presentation and food safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Strive to achieve guest satisfaction KPIs to meet and exceed guest expectations.
  • Supervise and manage daily operations of the café.
  • Manage and train staff on all food offerings, food preparation, food quality, food safety.
  • Assists guests and team members with the menu and offer recommendations.
  • Coordinate with food and beverage staff the preparation of food according to our job aids to ensure our quality and food safety standards.
  • Maintain all food temperature logs for cafe.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the café, kitchen, counters, equipment and tables at all times.
  • Keep up-to-date on all new food products and offerings.
  • Keep up-to-date with all new animals within the Aquarium.
  • Manage the team to ensure all product coolers, food warmers are stocked at all times.
  • Resolve all guest feedback regarding the café in a professional and satisfactory manner at all times.
  • Obtain all food handling certifications and ensure compliance of all NYS Health Department Requirements.
  • Assist with the selling of food and drink products on our point of sale system.
  • Maintain all food, drinks and kitchenware inventory and stock.
  • Monitor and manage guest experience and flow to ensure a safe and enjoyable journey.
  • Maintain the cleaning and sanitizing of all cookware, dishes and equipment inside the cafe.
  • Be part of a team that motivates and inspires each other to perform at their very best, through respect and frequent communication.
  • Assist in other departments as required.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years leadership experience working within the food and beverage industry required. Food handler certification required.
  • Cash handling experience required.
  • Product Inventory and PAR systems knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene standards and café/restaurants standards required.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills required.
  • Strong listening, presentation and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to anticipate guests’ needs.
  • Technically minded, with ability to learn Point of Sale system.
  • Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge.
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.

Abilities:

  • The Cafe Supervisor must possess the following abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some or a combination of the abilities.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and work with hot and cold temperatures in the café.
  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Other:

  • Upon employment all team members are required to comply with the standards, rules and regulations, which may be established by the Company and updated from time-to-time. Team members who violate property rules or have irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • The leisure business functions seven days a week. Due to the seasonal nature of the industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules, weekends, holidays and overtime to reflect the business needs of the property. Team members may also be required to attend group and/or department meetings in addition to the work shift as necessary.

  • $18.00 per hour
