Honeywell UOP Engineering is looking for a CAD Specialist II to work within the Engineering projects team. As a CAD Specialist II, you will work with a group of experienced CAD designers in the Rosemont, Illinois office along with other global engineering offices in support and development of engineering drawings for worldwide customers. The position focuses on detailed complex assignments, infrastructure facilitation/collaboration with the drafting/engineering community, customer interaction and mentoring.
You will report to our Mechanical Design Engineering Manager and work out of our Rosemont, IL location on a hybrid basis. Note: for the first 90 days, new hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create, revise, and maintain detailed engineering and construction drawings using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
- Develop 2D drawings, layouts, schematics, equipment arrangements, and design documentation from engineering markups and specifications.
- Ensure drawings comply with company drafting standards, project requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project teams to resolve design and drafting issues.
- Maintain drawing databases, file structures, and document control procedures.
- Perform quality checks on drawings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Incorporate redlines, and client feedback into drawing revisions.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of CAD standards, templates, and best practices.
- Support project schedules by meeting drafting milestones and deliverable deadlines.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- Experience in creating and modifying CAD models and drawings in a professional environment.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software tools such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or similar platforms, with the ability to produce precise and detailed technical drawings.
- Ability to work with engineering teams to interpret design requirements and translate them into CAD documentation.
- 3+ years of experience working as a CAD Specialist or in a similar role within the manufacturing or engineering industry.
- Ability to interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design calculations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

COMPENSATION
The annual base salary range for this position is $76K - $95K. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
