As a CAD Designer II at Honeywell, you will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed designs while supporting engineering and manufacturing activities. You will deliver accurate, high-quality CAD models and drawings while building technical depth and understanding of engineering processes.

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Munice, IN location on an On-site work schedule.

In this role, you will apply established engineering standards, support manufacturing and fabrication needs, design verification activities, maintain product data in PLM/PDM systems, and complete assigned work within project timelines.
 

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
•    Apply established design standards and engineering requirements to assigned work.
•    Maintain models, drawings, and related product data within applicable PLM/PDM systems.
•    Support manufacturing and fabrication needs through accurate design documentation and responsive technical assistance.
•    Support prototype builds and design verification activities, incorporating approved feedback into models and drawings.
•    Follow document control and engineering change processes to maintain accurate, current product records.
•    Execute assigned tasks within project timelines and escalate design or technical issues when needed.
•    Follow established safety, quality, and 5S practices in the work area.
 

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

•    High School Diploma or equivalent.
•    2+ years’ experience using CAD tools while understanding drafting standards, and engineering documentation.
•    3+ years’ experience creating 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
•    Ability to interpret drawings and apply basic mechanical design principles and established engineering standards.
•    Ability to perform assigned work with limited decision-making authority, recognize technical issues, and escalate concerns appropriately.

WE VALUE

•    Typically 3-5+ years of CAD design, drafting, manufacturing support, or related experience.
•    Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Creo, Teamcenter, and SAP.
•    Experience with 3D Printing
•    Experience with Electronic or Electrical schematics and diagrams
•    Manufacturing awareness and experience supporting fabrication, prototype builds, or design verification activities.
•    Developing knowledge of PLM/PDM systems, drawing control, revision practices, and engineering change processes.
•    Understanding of and adherence to 5S principles.
•    Introductory understanding of Lean Six Sigma concepts.
•    Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and effective collaboration with engineering and manufacturing partners.
•    Technical coursework, CAD training, or relevant software certifications.
