Brief Description:

The jobholder is fully accountable for the End2End Program Quality activities of the C295 Make in India Program executed in India, and the orchestration and integration of the Airbus India Quality team towards the overall programme deliverables execution. The scope of the activities executed in India are:

1. Make in India Programme: Quality legal framework Airbus entities

2. Government Quality Assurance and Production Airworthiness framework in India, Industrialization, training, production and deliveries in India.

3. Return of experience of Make in India to Series Production.

4. Quality In Service Support including Quality Customer Irritants flow down to Series Production.

Within beforehand scope, this position holds the full accountability of the End2End program/ Product Life Cycle Quality objectives, Quality policy, Quality performance, Quality Assurance and Product Quality Attestation activities. As well as coordinating the complete Quality network, ensuring the adequate resources are in place, internal and external (India Industrial Partner).

The job holder is accountable for the Quality Interface and Quality Satisfaction of the Final Customer and Authorities in India (IAF & DGAQA) in all programs phases: New strategies definition, Contract Award, Contract Review, Definition, Development, Certification, Design reviews, Outsourcing, Industrialization, Production, Internal deliveries, Final Delivery, in Service and offsets.

The jobholder, as part of the Program Organization, will have the following missions, responsibilities and main activities for the Quality activities carried out in India.

Key Deliverables:

  • The jobholder will deliver Quality Inspection and attestation, Optimization of Inspection Activities, fast response to quality issues and the defined KPIs to assure process quality. Job holder will deliver process improvement, investigation and root cause analysis, Foreign object damage prevention, open/close of non conformities where appropriate and support to the shop floor providing C295 expertise in Q issues. Jobholder will be carrying out Predictive Quality activities and coaching to operations.

  • The jobholder will deliver the deployment of all the Quality processes interfacing with India Industrial Partner, not only from a procedural but also from an IT point of view. Covering the E2E value chain of the program (Attestation of Conformity, Non Conformity management, Quality Survey Report, Quality Log Book, Technical Log Book, Concessions, etc.)

  • The jobholder will assure Industrialization Quality requirements prior transfer of the complete Industrial setup to the India Industrial Partner.

  • The jobholder will deliver the APQP strategy to be implemented for contributing to the Cost-of-on-Quality Estimate at Completion variance targets and for the overall risks mitigation of the program.

  • The jobholder will deliver a trustful and reliable link with Indian Customer and Indian Authorities for Quality matters.

  • The jobholder will be a Quality reference and key enabler of the organization, as well as for the overall Program team, as a key lever for the programs objectives and Customer Satisfaction.

  • Leading Programme Quality improvement plans to continuously enhance the overall Program profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Conformity

    • Guarantee the conformity of C295 product/service to the requirement specified by our customer and Airbus, and support on quality on time and on cost delivery by delivering right first time.

    • Contribute to investigations and root cause analysis into reported quality/quality technical issues form the business team and customer, to ensure appropriate containment and archiving, corrective and curative action is taken by the accountable function through multifunctional teams.

    • Perform Quality Inspection as per defined standards, Final Check and Attestation, Stop Points, Out of sequence work, including critical activities (when not delegated).

    • Ensure Operational Surveillance (people, product and process).

    • Provide feedback and coaching to Operations, Support Functions and India Industrial Partner organization on Quality issues and observations from Operational Surveillance.

    • Participate in process improvements.

    • Ensure the quality feedback loop with Serial Production, and assure right QSR implementation in the India Final Assembly Line.

  • Voice of Customer & Authorities

    • Act as reference focal point for Quality matters in front of Customer and Authorities.

    • Provide feedback for Voice of Customer and Authorities.

    • Coordinating and executing the Government Quality Assurance Activities as agreed with the Authorities and Customer.

  • Quality Requirements in contractual framework

    • Identify and deploy Quality requirements to be applied to the program including the Quality legal framework between Airbus entities.

    • Identify potential impacts in the Quality Management System. Including Configuration Control and Conformity work frame.

    • Define and coordinate Quality requirements with the flooding down of different Quality organizations.

    • Define and assess impacts of airworthiness scenarios. Negotiations with Indian authorities.

    • Define and assess impacts of Government/Official Quality Assurance scenarios. Negotiations with Indian authorities.

    • Coordination of Quality inputs for Business case.

    • Quality inputs for edition of program documentation (Program Management Plans).

    • Accountable for the Program Quality Management plan.

  • Quality Planning

    • Definition and coordination of Quality Goals for the Project. Including Customer Satisfaction goals.

    • Definition and coordination of Quality Planning for the Project.

    • Flow-down of Quality requirements and goals to suppliers (or coordination).

    • Continuous improvement of Quality Processes, Quality awareness and support to program managers.

    • APQP deployment planning.

    • Coordination of Suppliers Quality Plans.

  • Quality Work Package (WP) management

    • Quality WP budget negotiation and management (with Programs and with other Quality areas). 

    • Definition, coordination and management of Quality Risks and opportunities.

    • Integration of Quality Lessons learnt from previous experiences.

    • Definition and reporting of Quality KPIs for WP.

    • APQP and Core tool strategy definition and deployment.

    • E2E Maturity Gates and Quality Gates strategy, definition and management.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Masters in Engineering / Fluent English / Strong interpersonal skills / Team work oriented / Autonomy

  • 10 Years of experience in Quality / Programme Management / Operations

  • Should have positive attitude while dealing with Senior Managers, Customers,

  • Previous experience in Team Management is a must

  • Located at Final Assembly Line site in India (Vadodara)

  • Open to travel frequently through-out India and Europe

  • Excellent organization skills, customer oriented and can-do attitude

  • Excellent communication skills, English and Hindi fluent.

  • Team player, creating an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
