To support our business, we are looking for a C# Software Developer.

 

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Developer to join our team and take ownership of developing software applications that support Datacolor instruments. 
Software Developers at Datacolor are responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining our products. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining existing applications, analyzing and debugging complex codebases, and implementing new features on modern applications. In the initial phase, the role will focus on guiding the transition from our current flagship applications to the next‑generation platform. Following this transition, the candidate will contribute to a major new development initiative within the team. 

This role requires a strong coder and a persistent problem solver, motivated to:

  • Engage in constructive discussions, exchanging feedback and suggestions. 
  • Perform thorough technical analysis.      

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Software Development: contribute to the design, development, maintenance and support of software applications built across both legacy platforms and modern enterprise architectures. 
    Proven professional expertise in C# and the .NET framework is essential to ensure effective long‑term contribution to ongoing projects. 
    A solid knowledge of C++ is a mandatory requirement for this position, while familiarity with MFC and COM technologies is considered a plus and will support a faster onboarding process. 
  • Software Quality: Ensure the delivery of high-quality, well tested releases. 
  • Product Ownership: Collaborate with internal support teams and, when required, take on product ownership responsibilities to understand and fulfill specific customer requirements. 
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with the latest industry technologies and trends.

    

Experience & Qualifications:

You have: 

  • A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science computer or software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience 
  • Several years of experience developing software for industrial or technical applications. 
  • Excellent coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proven professional expertise in C# and C++. 
  • Experience with WPF, .NET Framework, Microsoft Visual Studio, and Microsoft Azure DevOps Server (Git). 
  • Ability to create and maintain installers and software packages; InstallShield experience is a plus. 
  • Understanding of enterprise data lifecycle, data protection, and security principles. 
  • Microsoft certifications are a plus.   

Skills: 

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.  
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.  
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.  
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks autonomously. 
  • English language, both oral and written, is mandatory 

Location: 

Reggio Emilia – Italy - Hybrid
