As a C++/Qt System Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining an existing GUI application while ensuring seamless communication between software components and system hardware or registers. You will work across application development, communication interfaces, system integration, testing, and documentation.
The role requires strong debugging and problem-solving abilities, with an emphasis on understanding existing systems, implementing controlled changes, validating end-to-end functionality, and maintaining system reliability. You will collaborate with engineering and system teams to amend requirements, execute integration activities, perform acceptance testing, and support regression cycles.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Maintain, customize, and enhance existing C++/Qt-based GUI applications.
- Analyse existing application architecture, code, interfaces, and system behaviour to implement required changes.
- Develop and maintain LAN-based communication between application and system components.
- Work with communication protocols, packet structures, message formats, and data handling mechanisms.
- Implement and maintain GUI-to-register mapping and ensure accurate interaction between software controls and system registers.
- Analyse communication and integration issues and perform detailed debugging and root-cause analysis.
- Amend and maintain Software Requirements Specifications (SRS) based on system and product changes.
- Support system integration activities across software, hardware, and communication interfaces.
- Execute Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and document test results and observations.
- Perform regression testing following software changes, fixes, and enhancements.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, integration records, test reports, and configuration details.
- Coordinate with development, testing, system engineering, and other technical teams to resolve integration issues.
- Validate system behaviour against functional and technical requirements.
- Identify potential integration risks and proactively support their resolution.
- Ensure changes are implemented in accordance with established development, testing, and documentation standards.
- 4+ years of experience in C++ application development, system integration, or a related engineering role.
- Strong hands-on experience with C++ and Qt development.
- Experience maintaining and customizing existing GUI applications.
- Strong understanding of LAN communication, packet structures, data formats, and communication interfaces.
- Experience working with GUI-to-register mapping or similar software-to-hardware integration mechanisms.
- Good understanding of system integration, interface validation, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with SRS documentation, ATP execution, regression testing, and technical documentation.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across software and system-level issues.
- Ability to understand legacy codebases and implement changes without compromising existing functionality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and technical teams.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ownership of assigned tasks and commitment to quality and delivery.
- Experience in embedded systems, defence, aerospace, automotive, electronics, or other engineering-intensive environments is an advantage.
