Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to support the engineering, design review, and execution of instrumentation and control systems for fired equipment and oil & gas projects.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in instrumentation engineering, control systems, process safety, and PLC-based automation. This position requires a detail-oriented professional capable of reviewing engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting the successful implementation of combustion and process control solutions.
Instrumentation Engineering & Design Review:
- Review and approve instrumentation engineering deliverables for fired equipment and oil & gas projects.
- Review and validate:
- Instrument Datasheets
- Hook-up Drawings
- Junction Box (JB) Drawings
- Cable Schedules and Cable Routing Layouts
- Instrument Material Take-Offs (MTOs)
- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
Instrument Selection & Sizing:
- Review and oversee sizing, specification, and selection of:
- Control Valves
- On-Off Valves
- Flow Elements
- Flow Measurement Systems
- Pressure, Temperature, and Level Instruments
- Coordinate with process and mechanical engineering teams to ensure proper instrument application and functionality.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5–12 years of experience in Controls & Instrumentation Engineering within:
- Oil & Gas
- Refining
- Petrochemical
- Process Industries
- Fired Equipment / Combustion Systems
- Strong understanding of instrumentation design and process control systems.
- Experience with PLC-based control systems and industrial automation.
- Familiarity with control valve sizing and instrument selection.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Burner Management Systems (BMS) - Preferred but not mandatory
- Experience with Fired Heaters, Industrial Burners, Thermal Oxidizers, Boilers, or Combustion Systems - Preferred but not mandatory
- Exposure to SIL Studies, LOPA, and Functional Safety Engineering.

Skills Required
- Design and review instrumentation and control systems for oil & gas and fired equipment projects
- Review and approve instrument datasheets, hook-up drawings, JB drawings, cable schedules, and instrument MTOs
- Instrument sizing and selection including control valves, on-off valves, flow elements and flow measurement systems
- Develop and ensure quality of P&IDs, cause & effect matrices, control philosophies and narratives
- Review, validate, and troubleshoot Burner Management Systems (BMS)
- Boolean logic development and interpretation, interlocks, and safety shutdown systems
