Job Description

We are seeking a C&I Engineer with solid knowledge and practical experience in electrical substation automation, renewable energy control systems, power plant control systems, SCADA, communication networks, grid compliance, and operational technology (OT) cybersecurity.

The role will support renewable energy projects, including Wind Power Plants, Solar PV Plants, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Hybrid Power Plants, electrical substations, and emerging technologies such as hydrogen and Power-to-X facilities.

The C&I Engineer will contribute to the implementation, testing, commissioning, and operational support of automation, control, communication, and monitoring systems, working closely with contractors, OEMs, TSOs, DSOs, consultants, and internal teams throughout project development, construction, and operations.

You will contribute to secure and green energy ecosystem creation by:

  • Taking responsibility for substation automation, control, communication, and monitoring system implementation, including grid compliance requirements, renewable asset integration, and coordination with other engineering disciplines and project activities.
  • Providing technical assistance during project development, ensuring automation architectures, communication concepts, control strategies, and grid compliance requirements are properly considered throughout project design and execution.
  • Providing technical support during project construction, commissioning, and testing phases, coordinating with contractors, OEMs, TSOs, DSOs, and consultants, while reviewing technical documentation and engineering deliverables.
  • Supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning activities, communication testing, signal validation, control function verification, and grid compliance testing of automation and control systems.
  • Providing technical support during operations and maintenance activities, including troubleshooting automation, communication, and control system issues, supporting Root Cause Analysis investigations, and contributing to asset performance optimization initiatives.
  • Maintaining relationships with OEMs, EPC contractors, system integrators, consultants, TSOs, and DSOs to ensure automation and control systems are delivered in accordance with project requirements, applicable standards, cybersecurity requirements, and business objectives.
  • Reviewing automation architectures, communication systems, signal lists, control philosophies, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements, company standards, and grid connection conditions.
  • Participating in technical meetings, project reviews, commissioning activities, and discussions with TSOs, DSOs, contractors, and consultants to provide technical updates and support resolution of project challenges.
  • Supporting Operations & Maintenance teams on automation, communication, and control system topics, including upgrades, integrations, performance improvements, and implementation of lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3–8 years of engineering experience in substation automation, control systems, industrial communication systems, renewable energy projects, power systems, or related industries.
  • Experience with Power Plant Controllers (PPC), SCADA systems, PLCs, RTUs, industrial communication networks, and integration of renewable energy assets into transmission and distribution
  • Good knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including Wind Power Plants, Solar PV Plants, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Hybrid Power Plants, and electrical substations.
  • Understanding of grid codes, TSO and DSO requirements, communication protocols, automation system testing, commissioning activities, and grid compliance requirements.
  • Technical knowledge of industrial communication protocols and automation technologies, including IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101/104, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, OPC UA, and Ethernet-based industrial communication networks.
  • Knowledge of automation system design, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational support activities in accordance with regulatory and international standards.
  • Results-oriented mindset with the ability to analyze technical issues, identify practical solutions, and communicate information clearly and effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive relationships with contractors, OEMs, consultants, utilities, and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engineering activities simultaneously and adapt effectively to changing project priorities.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
