Kogan.com is a pioneer of Australian eCommerce. Our vision is to leverage and build technology to deliver personalised, innovative and fast customer experiences and whilst doing so being pragmatic with our solutions, scalable with our architecture, strong with our quality and not being afraid to fail quickly. As a team, we are empowered to make change, share our opinions and build each others capability.

The software we build - including www.kogan.com - is used by millions of customers. You'll be a key member of a team that is fast-paced, independent, ambitious and passionate about technology.

We are looking for an Engineer with strong SQL Server and C# / Entity Framework experience to support and enhance a business-critical ERP environment. While the role involves SAP Business One, deep SAP experience is not required. What matters most is your ability to work confidently with SQL, data integrity, and production systems, and to apply structured, long-term fixes in a live environment.

What you'll do:

  • Own and optimise SQL Server performance across a production ERP environment, including complex queries, stored procedures, views, indexes, and data integrity checks.
  • Design, troubleshoot, and improve data access layers using Entity Framework (EF) and C# to support integrations, fixes, and enhancements.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues across databases, applications, and integrations, focusing on root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.
  • Support and maintain ERP integrations and APIs, including REST-based services and service layers.
  • Monitor system health across Windows Server and SQL Server, proactively addressing performance, stability, and security issues.
  • Manage database-related operational tasks including backups, restores, upgrades, patching, and capacity planning.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Finance, and Operations teams to prioritise issues and ensure reliable system operation.
  • Provide second and third-line support, producing clear documentation for incidents, fixes, and repeatable support processes.
  • Assist with finance-critical data accuracy requirements, including reconciliations, postings, journals, and inventory updates.
  • Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives across support tooling, monitoring, and processes.

Why Kogan.com?

  • Work with an incredible team to solve important challenges, helping to drive Australia and New Zealand’s eCommerce future.
  • Your role has a lot of ownership, autonomy and little red tape.
  • You’ll be empowered to achieve positive outcomes and your work will have a real impact.
  • You’ll be at the forefront of the eCommerce industry with us and be part of a company that are the Pioneers of eCommerce in Australia.
  • Be an Intrepreneur, playing a hands-on role in shaping our strategy at our HQ.
  • A range of employee benefits such as; complimentary Kogan First Membership, team exclusive discounts, Health & Wellness program, Learning & Development and Lunch & Learns, Hackathons, Team member referral program, Company and team events.

What you'll need:

  • Strong SQL Server expertise: writing and optimising complex queries, stored procedures, views, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with C# and Entity Framework (EF) in production environments.
  • Experience supporting data-heavy or business-critical systems, ideally in ERP, finance, or operations domains.
  • Understanding of APIs and system integrations (REST, service layers, middleware).
  • Solid Windows Server and system administration fundamentals, including monitoring, patching, backups, and security.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills in live environments, including logs, databases, integrations, and distributed systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple issues and stakeholders with strong prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Clear communicator who can collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, automation, and long-term solutions over quick fixes.
