The Optical Diagnostics and Control (ODC) Business Unit is a leading division within Applied Materials focused on developing advanced inspection and diagnostics solutions for semiconductor manufacturing. ODC drives innovation across hardware, software, and algorithmic domains, delivering high-performance systems that enable precise process control and yield enhancement. The team operates in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, balancing deep technical expertise with strategic agility to meet evolving industry demands. We are looking for an talented C\C++ Software Engineer to join the ODC Software team, which develops high-throughput image processing modules optimized for CPU architectures. The role involves designing and implementing performance-critical software and building efficient data flows for real-time image processing. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative and technically challenging environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • As a member of this core team, you will initiate, design, and develop optimized software for our next-generation high-end processing product.
  • You will make key technical decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and CPU efficiency of our applications.
  • You will contribute to the development of innovative products and see them launched into production environments.

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • B.Sc. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in C\C++ development on Linux.
  • Strong design, analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in implementing and optimizing image processing algorithms on x86 CPUs.
  • Experience designing and implementing high-performance data flows and data structures.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and deployment automation.
