The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a C-17 Flight Test Engineering Manager to join our team in Edwards Airforce Base (AFB), CA.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage employees performing activities within multiple (2 or more) Engineering disciplines
- Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals
- Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements
- Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
- Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
- Manage, develop and motivate employees
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Edwards AFB, CA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"
- 5+ years of experience working across functional groups and engineering disciplines on a Military aircraft program
- Experience synthesizing program/project/statement of work (SOW) requisition into actionable and measurable tasks
- Experience with systems engineering, configuration management (CM), and quality functions, processes and requirements
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering technical lead or management role
- 3+ years of experience in flight test engineering or related engineering disciplines supporting complex aerospace programs
- 3+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in test planning, execution, and data analysis across multiple functions
- 3+ years of C-17 engineering experience and an existing engineering technical network across engineering groups/skills
- 3+ years of experience working on C-17 design/repair (Operational, Depot, Repair/Overhaul, and/or Build/Manufacturing) for structural/avionic/electronic/electrical systems/subsystems
- 3+ years of experience applying program and project management principles (scheduling, risk management, cost control, and performance tracking)
- 1+ years of experience with direct involvement in mentoring, developing and evaluating, engineering personnel across various disciplines and/or functions
- 1+ years of experience developing and applying engineering processes, procedures and process-based metrics to drive efficiency
- Familiarity with DCMAI 8210.1C/D
- Skilled at presenting technical content to program leadership, Air Force customers, and integrated test teams with clarity and precision
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and build consensus with diverse stakeholders including government, program management, and engineering leadership
- Ability to understand and convey the big picture and the inter/Intra-relationships of skills and activities at the system and aircraft level, including the impact of changes in one area on another area
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly across different audiences and varying levels of the organizations/Military ranks to convey product design/repair
