Reports To: Occupational Therapy Supervisor
JOB SUMMARYOccupational therapy (OT) is an allied health profession that involves the therapeutic use of everyday activities, or occupations, to treat the physical, mental, developmental, and emotional ailments that impact a patient’s ability to perform day-to-day tasks. An OT is responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning, and treatment implementation of all assigned patients of all age populations by therapeutic techniques to improve, rehabilitate, or maintain a patient’s ability to perform every day activities. Responsible for completion of all necessary documentation related to patient care and rehab care department projects and operating procedures / tasks. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principals of growth and development and assess data reflective of the patient’s current status in relation to their age specific needs.
JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Graduate of an accredited college of Occupational Therapy.
Licensure: NBCOT certification required; must be licensed or eligible in State of Georgia
Experience: May be new graduate.
Skills: BLS CPR. Ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs that are
age appropriate. Ability to select proper instrumentation/supplies appropriate for age group of patient served.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
May work in outpatient department, community events, or at industrial sites. May be required to work a flexible schedule. Exposure to hazardous chemicals and equipment found in a typical therapy setting.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT
Required to display characteristics consistent with registration requirements and ethical practice in Occupational Therapy. Must be able to physically assist with patient transfers, perform bending, reaching activities and be able to tolerate moderate amount of stress.
Skills Required
- Graduate of an accredited college of Occupational Therapy

- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Georgia
- BLS CPR certification
