What you will be responsible for:

Aro Homes is seeking a Business Development Representative to support the Acquisition Department's expansion into new markets and strengthen the company's position within existing markets. This role will focus on identifying attractive jurisdictions for future growth, developing relationships within local real estate agents and brokerages, and creating new channels for acquisition opportunities.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated relationship builder with strong market awareness and an entrepreneurial mindset. You will work closely with the Acquisition Manager and executive team to help identify where Aro Homes should grow next, establish credibility within new markets, and cultivate relationships that generate long-term acquisition opportunities.

What you’ll do:
Market Expansion Strategy

  • Identify and evaluate new jurisdictions, neighborhoods, and submarkets that align with Aro Homes' growth strategy.

  • Research local market dynamics, housing trends, competitive activity, and barriers to entry to help determine expansion priorities.

  • Develop market-entry strategies for new target jurisdictions.

  • Build and maintain market intelligence on emerging opportunities throughout the Bay Area and other strategic markets.

  • Monitor demographic, economic, and housing trends that may influence future acquisition activity.

  • Act as an internal resource for market knowledge and strategic growth opportunities

Business Development & Relationship Building

  • Establish and maintain relationships with residential real estate agents, brokers, brokerage managers, investors, wholesalers, community stakeholders, and other market participants.

  • Serve as an ambassador for Aro Homes within both existing and emerging markets.

  • Create and execute outreach strategies designed to increase awareness of Aro Homes and its acquisition criteria.

  • Develop local networks that generate market intelligence and acquisition opportunities.

  • Attend broker tours, networking events, industry functions, community meetings, and real estate association events.

  • Build trust and credibility within target communities to position Aro Homes as a preferred buyer and long-term market participant.

Broker & Realtor Engagement

  • Develop relationships with top-producing agents and brokerage offices in target jurisdictions.

  • Identify key influencers and market leaders within local real estate communities.

  • Maintain regular communication with brokers regarding Aro Homes' acquisition strategy and market interests.

  • Generate referrals and introductions that create both on-market and off-market acquisition opportunities.

  • Track and cultivate relationships through consistent follow-up and engagement.

  • Gather market feedback and intelligence from broker networks to help inform acquisition strategy.

Opportunity Sourcing Support

  • Help expand the acquisition pipeline through relationship-driven sourcing efforts.

  • Identify emerging neighborhoods, ownership trends, and areas of future opportunity.

  • Support direct-to-owner, referral, and community-based sourcing initiatives.

  • Coordinate with the Acquisition Manager regarding market intelligence and potential opportunities.

  • Maintain databases of contacts, relationships, and market activity.

  • Assist in developing scalable processes for entering and establishing presence in new jurisdictions.

 

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in business development, relationship management, real estate sales, brokerage, account management, market development, or a related field.

  • Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong understanding of residential real estate markets and market dynamics.

  • Ability to identify opportunities, build partnerships, and create long-term business relationships.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Comfortable representing the company at networking events, meetings, and industry functions.

  • Highly organized, self-directed, and proactive.

  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to identify market trends and strategic opportunities.

  • Passion for real estate, housing, and market expansion.


What we prefer you bring:

  • Existing relationships within the Bay Area residential real estate community.

  • Experience working with homebuilders, developers, brokerages, real estate investment firms, or proptech companies.

  • Familiarity with residential acquisition strategies and housing markets throughout Northern California.

Skills Required

  • Must be local to the San Francisco - Bay Area; hybrid in-office schedule
  • 2-5 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, business development, land development, brokerage, planning, or related field
  • Strong understanding of residential real estate markets and development fundamentals
  • Familiarity with zoning, entitlement, permitting, and planning processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities; synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations
  • Self-starter with proactive problem-solving and opportunity identification
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM platforms
  • Ability to travel throughout the Bay Area for meetings, site visits, and networking events
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Business, Economics, Construction Management, or related field
  • Experience working for a residential homebuilder, real estate developer, brokerage, or land acquisition team
  • Knowledge of Bay Area zoning and entitlement processes
  • Existing network of realtor, broker, or development industry relationships
  • Experience with market research, GIS tools, or real estate data platforms
