SCOPE OF ROLE:

The Buyer/Planner will be responsible for all buying and planning functions related to growth products. They will work closely with commodity managers to ensure timely delivery from suppliers to meet a 95% OTD target for units in their production area.  This role will require up to 20% travel as you will have multiple sites to plan for. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Maintain material plan to support 95% OTD to customers
• Ensure accurate cycle counting and inventory management related to the specific value stream
• Develop and own SIOP / S&OP for specified value stream utilizing the output to monitor and update forecast in order to meet the business needs
• Maintain robust PFEP, including ABCYZ for all products in value stream, to meet inventory turns and OTD metric
• Liaison with Value Stream Supervisor daily, attending Gemba walks, and ensuring proper schedule attainment.
• Work cross-functionally with members of operations, quality, sales, and supply chain in a multi-site environment, in order to deliver world class product to customers.
• Buy raw materials, collaborating with both sites to ensure proper material in both facilities, utilizing Kanban systems or similar.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:

• Bachelor's degree required in Supply Chain, Engineering is a plus
• Strong Excel skills, ability to manipulate data quickly utilizing formulas, and pivot tables
• Experience developing kanban systems is a plus
• 3-5 years in a supply chain / materials function
• Strong understanding of forecasting / forecasting models, SIOP or S&OP
• Deep understanding of MRP and how to utilize systems (Plus if JD Edwards)

PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to travel domestically between 10-20% between production sites and to suppliers as needed
