As a Buyer a typical day might include the following:
Adhering to purchasing policies and practices to ensure highest quality, appropriate inventory levels, timely delivery, and competitive cost from suppliers.
Executing strategic sourcing plans to support company objectives.
Identifying and mitigating risks to the SEL supply chain; including market trends, capacity constraints, commodity risks, and business conditions for manufacturers and suppliers.
Creating and improving supplier partnerships by identifying areas for improvement, escalating issues to management and executing corrective action plans in accordance with World Class Manufacturing principles.
Demonstrating business professionalism, purchasing fundamentals, time management, data analytics, supply chain management, supplier development, cost reduction strategy development and negotiation techniques.
Supporting on open projects by managing the supply chain and providing guidance on the part selection process and strategic supply partners.
This job might be for you if:
You hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, operations, or supply chain; or a combination of relevant education and experience.
You have intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
You are familiar working with MRP/ERP systems.
You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
