TITLE: Buyer IDEPARTMENT: Supply Chain OFFICE LOCATION: MadridJOB TYPE: Full time, permanent, hybridRole overview:

The Buyer executes purchasing of goods and services as required for multiple IPC organizations. The role encompasses sourcing of requirements and price negotiation. Support the negotiation and execution of contractual agreements and statements of work when required. The Buyer I usually manages low-level impact commodities and purchases across a region and assists others with commercial negotiations.

  • Create and execute purchase orders from approved requisitions to meet business requirements
  • Confirm orders
  • Manage supplier delivery dates and address lead-time issues
  • Support accounts payable to ensure proper and prompt payment of suppliers including invoice issue resolution 
  • Assure acceptable quality levels in all purchased goods and services
  • Utilize data to assist management development of sourcing plans for all assigned products and services
  • Assist negotiations for part and service pricing
  • Assist contract efforts for commercial requirements 
  • Identify and select suppliers to meet product and service requirements
  • Interact with suppliers to explain IPC and our processes
  • Support regular supplier business reviews to ensure solid relationships
  • Provide ongoing purchasing activity reporting to IPC management including cost savings, on-time delivery, etc. 
  • Annual cost improvement, enhanced payment term, inventory turns, and others as assigned 
  • Contracting and supplier relationship management, including negotiating and managing key terms that align with IPC’s strategic benefits.

Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in the Role:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of professional purchasing experience, preferably in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Language Proficiency: Strong command of English, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with international teams and stakeholders.

  • Commodity Expertise: Proven experience managing a diverse range of commodities, including electronics, custom-fabricated materials (e.g., plastics or PCBs), servers, networking equipment, cabling, software, software licenses, hardware/software maintenance, and related installation or consulting services.

  • Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, encompassing both pricing strategies and contract terms to ensure favorable agreements.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, particularly advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage and analyze large datasets.

  • ERP and Procurement Tools: Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems is a must, with preference for candidates experienced in Oracle Fusion Procurement module or similar platforms.

  • Communication and Interpersonal Abilities: Exceptional communication skills paired with strong interpersonal abilities to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders at all organizational levels.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate challenges and complete assigned tasks efficiently.

  • Collaboration: Ability to support internal teams by fostering collaboration and adaptability across all levels of the organization.

  • Global Reach: Capacity to operate across multiple regions, including North America (NA), Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), and Asia-Pacific (APAC).

  • Strategic Decision-Making: Proven ability to analyze purchasing data, identify trends, and apply insights to drive strategic, data-informed decisions that optimize procurement outcomes.

Desired Skills: 

  • Preferred candidates should possess certifications related to supply chain management or procurement to enhance credibility and expertise in the field.

  • Negotiation expertise extending beyond pricing to include contract terms and conditions, ensuring favorable agreements for IPC.
