Position Objective:  Support all program purchasing activities within the given Business Unit while ensuring compliance with overall Adient objectives, strategies and BOS procedures

Specific Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of Program Purchasing activities over specific BU´s to ensure excellent product launches
  • Control and approval of all Program Purchasing activities specified in PLUS and decisions in line with customer demands and commodity strategies
  • Insure smooth project launches by controlling the acquisition, sourcing on time, in line with cost book and MoB target, maintaining purchasing results until SOP
  • Guarantee financial control over complex, modular programs from phase 0-5 and over lifetime
  • Ensure the cost-, quality and time-oriented supply of all required goods, materials, equipment’s and services under compliance with the respective business plans, budgets and targets
  • Initiate and support of proper Make or Buy decisions
  • Initiate and support MBBP Activities (incl. VA / VE and Kaizen activities)
  • SDT member for a specific number of programs
  • Guarantee compliance with BOS, PLUS and PSOS procedures
  • Manage the Suppliers within the given programs (Request for Quotes RFQ, change management, contract negotiations, payment queries, dispute resolutions etc.)

  • Follow all Health & Safety and Environmental requirements that are defined on work instructions or communicated in training
  • Follow required emergency prevention and operational controls
  • Report all accidents, occupational illnesses and emergencies
  • Quality:
  • Apply, execute and maintain function related BOS issues In addition to the above mentioned tasks other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined

Education Required:

University degree required

Experience Required:

2 years within the industry, automotive or commodity related, purchasing experience, operational and strategic involvement

Professional Knowledge:

  • In depth understanding of purchasing tools and practices
  • PC knowledge (MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Controlling and cost analysis knowledge
  • Japanese (Business Level) /English Level (TOEIC 700 or above)
