Job Description
Commercial Buyer responsible of supplier strategy & mentoring aligned to core business field strategy and needs.
Roles includes activities such as development of business model, in cooperation with product marketing dept, connect to the right supplier base, focus on automotive, Lithium Ion, RV, Marine and stationary batteries, contracting, sourcing process, planning and price negotiations, support serial delivery and quality topics, maintenance of operative systems. Also includes project management to (participate and secure new product launch and product cost optimization).
This role has contact with local and international networking (internal and external).
Key tasks will include:
- Understanding and then driving the material field strategy for batteries in your region with cross functional support.
- Work closely to product marketing, visiting potential suppliers and market to understand which suppliers fits to the North America region. Work with the strategic buyers, logistics, and purchasing quality to release the best solutions that fits to Bosch growth strategy and meet the deadlines of the project for the business.
- Efficiently navigate with the different purchasing tools to effectively send RFQ’s to the approved suppliers, and then compile the comparison of quotes to make an informed sourcing decision that result in the request for approvals.
- Follow up on Business plan targets.
- You will manage supplier selection based on Total Cost of Ownership criteria (incl. system cost comparison, quality, reliability, delivery, transport costs, long term production plan etc.).
- Conduct supplier visits and Quick Scan, assessing corporate social responsibility, quality basic principles, etc.
- Ensure awarded suppliers achieve program launch requirements.
- Lead annual price negotiations.
- You will lead cost reduction initiatives in all venues of your commodities.
- Drive change management for procured parts (ECR) and interface to material field and quality purchasing within the purchasing organization.
- You will assess and manage the sourcing risk for the commodities, considering geopolitical and financial risks.
- You will develop and execute strategies to promote and constantly improve existing supplier performance in our supply chain, including holding regular supplier reviews (QBRs) and annual supplier evaluations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or similar.
- 3-5+ years of automotive trade goods (private label) purchasing experience.
- Automotive batteries purchasing and/or market experience is a differential.
- SAP or similar ERP (Purchasing).
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Power BI or Tableau a plus.
- Ability to generate networking (internal and external).
- You are self-motivated; able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to requests, as well as collaborating with others to utilize resources and knowledge of others in identifying solutions, enjoy being challenge.
- Result oriented person (KPI tracking).
- Desire to grow in your career.
- Capacity to delivery presentation to the board level (VP+)
- Communication skills, capacity to argument and convince others.
- Experience in identify and develop supplier base for new business.
- You are comfortable with working with teams and suppliers in different time zones and frequent travel (approximately 25-30% of the time)
- You enjoy working in an international environment.
