Applied Materials Varian Business Unit is the leading worldwide producer of Ion Implantation equipment used in the manufacture of semiconductors. This position is located at our primary manufacturing and engineering plant in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
The position reports to the Implant BU CFO managing a staff of (2-3) finance professionals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ownership of BU P&L and financial submissions (SR, QBR, CMT, BSR)
- Develop relationships with business stakeholders supporting BU strategy and profitability
- Support the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems applying advanced analytical thought and judgment while organizing team members around a solution or approach
- BU Financial Lead of Gross Margin Leadership Team (GMLT), identify and help drive margin improvement initiatives (Sequoia, Alpine & Banyan).
- Support BU CFO/COO on BU cost management (HC, Facilities, Inventory, DIO, OCS)
- Support financial systems & processes including new profitability measurements
- Mentor and develop direct reports, aligning available resources to best support business needs; ensure team deliverables are completed on time and at a high quality
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Analytics or related field (MBA preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive business experience
- Experience with large international MFG and/or Engineering tech company preferred
- Experience with enterprise level financial systems (SAP/BPC/Tableau preferred)
- Excellent communication skills including partnering with executive leaders and the greater finance team, providing recommendations and insights for strategic and operational decisions.

U.S. Salary Range:
$144,000.00 - $198,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
