Descriptive Summary  

The Director of Cabinets oversees order fulfillment, procurement, and inventory management to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and product quality. This role develops strategic plans, manages bidding and estimating, and collaborates across teams to optimize operations. Responsible for leading a high-performing team, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and improving processes, the manager plays a key role in driving business growth and operational excellence in the cabinet industry. 

 

Essential Functions 

Strategic Planning: 

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize order processing and purchasing operations for cabinets, aligning with company goals and objectives. 

  • Analyze market trends, demand forecasts, and industry developments to inform procurement strategies and inventory management decisions. 

  • Participate and/or lead key projects related to market growth initiatives related to cabinets. 

Bidding and Estimating Management: 

  • Oversee the bidding and estimating process to confirm accurate layouts, pricing, and margins. 

  • Confirm that bids are meeting the deadlines for builders. 

Order Processing Management: 

  • Oversee the end-to-end order processing workflow, from order placement to fulfillment, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely delivery. 

  • Collaborate with sales, production, and logistics teams to coordinate order fulfillment activities and resolve any issues or discrepancies. 

Purchasing Operations: 

  • Lead the procurement process for cabinets, including collaboration with sourcing regarding vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management, to secure high-quality materials at competitive prices. 

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure reliable and timely delivery of cabinet components. 

Inventory Management: 

  • Coordinate with regional inventory management to develop inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and prevent stockouts or excess inventory. 

  • Implement inventory control measures, such as inventory tracking systems and cycle counting, to ensure accuracy and accountability. 

Quality Assurance: 

  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and enforce quality standards for cabinets throughout the production and procurement processes. 

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, streamline processes, and reduce waste. 

Team Leadership: 

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of order processing specialists, purchasing managers, and inventory control personnel. 

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence. 

Performance Monitoring and Reporting: 

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to order processing, purchasing, and inventory management, and develop reports to track departmental performance. 

  • Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed. 

Compliance and Risk Management: 

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies in all aspects of order processing, purchasing, and inventory management. 

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, pricing fluctuations, and other operational challenges. 

Field Operations Oversight: 

  • Confirm the installation was on time, verify correct product was installed, and the quality of installation meets ILG’s standards. 

  • Ensure the efficiency of field operations via DPM (Daily Productivity Management) 

Other duties as assigned. 

  • Cross pollinating/support other areas of the business to support needs. 

 

Education & Experience 

Required 

  • Bachelor's Degree 

  • 5-7 years applicable job experience 

  • In order processing, purchasing, or supply chain management- preferably in the manufacturing industry, with a focus on cabinets or similar products. 

 

Preferred 

  • Master's Degree 

  • Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or another related field 

  • Choose an item. 

 

 

Skills & Competencies (select 5-7)  

Required 

  • Strong knowledge of order processing systems, inventory management principles, and procurement best practices. 

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams. 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. 

  • Familiarity with ERP systems, inventory management software, and other relevant tools. 

  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is a plus. 

  • Change Management 

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with demonstrated success creating and implementing plans in high-growth, dynamic environments
