Summary/Objective
The Business Systems Integration Developer is the primary technical resource responsible for identifying business process improvement opportunities and designing, developing, implementing, documenting, and supporting software solutions across OGI Process Equipment. The role combines hands-on software development with business systems analysis and enterprise application integration.
Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, this position works with Engineering, Drafting, Manufacturing, Quality, Service, Sales, Purchasing, Accounting, and Operations to translate operational needs into practical, scalable, and supportable solutions. The position is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, manage ambiguity, establish technical direction within assigned initiatives, and own solutions from requirements definition through deployment and ongoing support.
Role Focus: This is primarily a software development, systems integration, reporting, automation, and business process improvement role. It may provide limited enterprise application administration and technical support, but it is not a traditional help-desk, network administration, or general IT infrastructure position.

Business Analysis and Solution Ownership
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand workflows, ask effective questions, identify root causes, define requirements, and translate operational needs into clear technical solutions.
- Independently scope, prioritize, design, build, test, deploy, document, and support assigned software and integration initiatives.
- Evaluate existing processes and systems to reduce manual work, improve data quality, strengthen controls, and increase visibility across departments.
- Provide technical recommendations to leadership, communicate tradeoffs and risks, and establish practical implementation approaches aligned with company priorities.
- Manage multiple initiatives while maintaining system stability, data integrity, security, documentation, and effective stakeholder communication.
Software Development, Data and Integration
- Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve internal applications, utilities, scripts, services, reports, dashboards, forms, and workflow automations using C# and other approved technologies.
- Design, develop, document, and support APIs, web services, middleware, database interfaces, and other approved integration methods connecting enterprise applications and external systems.
- Manage, extend, maintain, and document data contracts, schemas, data models, mappings, and interfaces across new and existing software applications.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries, views, stored procedures, data extracts, reports, validation routines, and database processes supporting business operations.
- Diagnose and resolve application, integration, authentication, data synchronization, transaction, performance, and data quality issues.
- Plan and execute controlled data imports, exports, conversions, corrections, validation, and testing activities.
- Apply appropriate source control, testing, change management, deployment, backup coordination, revision tracking, and production release practices.
Enterprise Business Systems
- Support and improve Epicor ERP programming, reporting, data extraction, workflow automation, user-facing processes, and approved integrations.
- Support PRO.File PLM configuration, engineering data flow, document control, revision-related processes, reporting, and approved integrations.
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel-based operational tools, including structured workbooks, formulas, validation, reporting, controlled templates, macros, and data cleanup processes.
- Support SharePoint lists, libraries, site structures, permissions coordination, document workflows, data organization, and approved Microsoft 365 integrations.
- Support ClickUp workflows, dashboards, automations, task templates, reporting, and process visibility for engineering and operational teams.
- Support interfaces and controlled data processes associated with SolidWorks and other engineering applications without serving as the primary CAD designer.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external providers on application support, backup, recovery, access, and specialized technical matters when required.
System Reliability, Security and Documentation
- Monitor recurring system issues, perform root-cause analysis, document corrective actions, and coordinate resolution with stakeholders or external vendors.
- Support approved VEEAM backup monitoring, recovery verification, and documentation activities in coordination with management and external IT resources.
- Assist with application access, permissions review, user setup, account changes, and data protection activities when assigned.
- Protect company, customer, financial, engineering, and proprietary information by following confidentiality, secure access, cybersecurity, and data handling requirements.
- Maintain clear technical and user documentation, including solution designs, integration specifications, data dictionaries, mappings, test plans, deployment notes, support procedures, and user instructions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in C# and object-oriented software development, including application design, debugging, maintenance, testing, documentation, and lifecycle management.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including structured tables, formulas, lookup functions, data validation, reporting workbooks, pivot-style analysis, data cleanup, and controlled spreadsheet practices.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL, including queries, views, stored procedures, reporting, data modeling, validation, troubleshooting, and performance considerations.
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, documenting, and supporting APIs, web services, database interfaces, middleware, or other system-to-system integrations.
- Experience managing data models, schemas, mappings, and contracts across connected applications.
- Ability to discover and document business requirements, evaluate alternatives, and independently deliver practical software solutions.
- Experience with source control, structured testing, change management, deployment, and maintainable technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, system stability, data integrity, security, and stakeholder alignment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across Engineering, Drafting, Manufacturing, Quality, Service, Sales, Purchasing, Accounting, and Operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting ERP, PLM, manufacturing, engineering, document management, project management, or other enterprise business systems.
- Experience with Epicor ERP, PRO.File PLM, SharePoint, ClickUp, or comparable platforms.
- Experience with manufacturing software processes in a Windows and C# environment.
- Experience with advanced Excel automation, reporting, macros, or controlled operational workbooks.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks-related engineering data, file structures, drafting workflows, or CAD/PDM integrations. Direct CAD design experience is not required.
- Familiarity with VEEAM or comparable backup and recovery platforms.
- Experience in engineered-to-order manufacturing, fabrication, industrial equipment, oil and gas, or project-based business environments.
- Experience supporting digital transformation, workflow automation, data governance, or enterprise systems integration initiatives.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in software development, business systems integration, database development, ERP/PLM support, manufacturing systems, or a related technical field preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with a high degree of autonomy and owning technical solutions through the full lifecycle is strongly preferred.
Supervisor Responsibility
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
Non-temperature-controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are usually associated with metal fabrication shops. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility.

While performing duties of this job, the employee in this position is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. This position requires walking, the ability to reach, ascend/descend ladders, bend, kneel, and stoop. The employee occasionally will lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Frequently visit customer sites to evaluate projects, which may require moving above, below, over and around stationary objects. Some sites may have space limitations which, may make movement while installing, adjusting or repairing equipment and parts difficult. These customer sites may potentially be hot, cold or loud.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position will typically have extended hours before or after normal work hours to test, install or implement software solutions.
Travel
Limited travel may be required. Travel may include visits to customer or vendor sites to evaluate projects, systems, or implementation requirements. Site conditions may be hot, cold, loud, confined, or otherwise different from the normal office environment.
