As a Application Support Engineer in the Verizon Ireland Global Sourcing & Supply Chain group, you will contribute efforts on operational support for the organization and clear application issues. You will work in a cross-functional and cross-organizational environment (including Third party partners) to facilitate and deliver operational resolutions. You will work with end-users to answer questions and help resolve first-level issues on application support matters. You will partner with Global Technology Services colleagues when additional assistance is needed to resolve application issues tied to functionality and / or interfaces.
What you'll be doing...

  • Understanding operational business challenges across Global Supply Chain, Sourcing and Sustainability

  • Identifying, owning and resolving application fallout errors

  • Identifying, owning, and driving resolutions to gaps in application functionality

  • Testing functionality on fixes, enhancements or new releases prior to end-user acceptance

  • Creating documentation related to upcoming functionality releases

  • Creating and delivering training to end users

What we are looking for:
You'll need to have:

  • Graduated with a degree in Business Information Systems, Technology, or a related discipline

  • A related co-op or internship experience, with proven project and work experience (a portfolio is helpful)

  • Exposure to enterprise software systems.

  • Experience in troubleshooting and analyzing issues

  • Strong organisational skills

  • Experience using Google G-Suite Applications and Microsoft Office Applications

  • To be considered for this role, applicants must already hold a valid right to work in Ireland. We are currently unable to support employment permit sponsorship.

Even Better if you have:

  • Exposure, knowledge or proficiency in SAP application suites (S4 HANA, Ariba, IBP) or related systems

  • Experience in system testing

  • Good team player, well organized and self-starter

  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to multitask
