Business Systems Analyst

What you will be doing:

• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and subject matter experts to elicit and analyze functional requirements through interviews, workshops, and data analysis. 

• Translate business needs into clear, actionable deliverables such as user stories, process flows, and well-defined acceptance criteria that are easily understood by all stakeholders. 

• Serve as a key liaison between business and technical teams to ensure shared understanding and successful solution delivery. 

• Partner with development teams and SMEs to design and implement technical solutions that align with strategic business objectives. 

• Evaluate existing business processes and system data to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for process improvement or automation. 

• Conduct impact assessments and provide detailed analysis to support solution trade-offs and inform decision-making on the optimal path forward. 

• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and sprints, offering ongoing clarification and context to ensure alignment throughout the development lifecycle. 

• Proactively identify and mitigate risks/issues that could impact release or project objectives. 

• Contribute to product demos and prepare comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans, including test scenarios and cases. Coordinate testing efforts to ensure timely completion and resolution of identified issues. 

• Collaborate with developers to analyze and resolve production support issues, document findings, and provide timely responses to inquiries. 

• Perform other duties as assigned. 

What you already have:

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, MIS or related field, or High School diploma and equivalent relevant work experience required. 

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or similar role required. 

• Minimum 1 year of experience in P&C insurance required. 

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

• Knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology. 

• Working knowledge of product development architecture. 

• Proficiency in the use of analytic tools. 

• Excellent knowledge of user-centered design principles.
