Business Systems Analyst II acts as the liaison between the Information Technology (IT) development group and business units for the development and implementation of new business systems and enhancements to existing systems, including on-call support. Performs moderately complex business systems needs analysis, formulates, and defines systems scope and objectives, defines specifications, conducts testing, implements, and maintains systems, and develops recommendations to solve problems and issues related to business system operations.
What you will do
- Builds and maintains business systems using Agile principles and processes.
- Following general instructions from manager or more experienced business system analysts, ensures systems are operating as designed.
- Evaluates requests for changes to the system, provides routine system maintenance, documents system processes and procedures, suggests system improvements, and makes daily decisions involving direct application of technical knowledge to system issues.
- Typically works on moderately complex and smaller, less defined solutions to assess and refine user stories, collaborate with scrum teams and product owners on solutions, develop test plans, conduct testing, and implement systems and system improvements.
- Voices customer requirements into user stories using Agile tools.
- Assists product and service owners in communicating changes to business systems.
- Contributes to development of business cases for improving and/or developing systems.
- Establishes standard procedures to ensure business systems are executed at an acceptable level of quality.
- Develops and monitors the use of system controls, e.g., system uptime, batches, reports, and queries, and supports end users in developing reports and/or database queries.
- Assists in developing and rolling out system application training for technical, departmental and end users.
- Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
- Bachelor's Degree Emphasis in business administration, information systems, or related area Preferred
Required Experience
- 3 years of related experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a project team to the successful conclusion of simple technology initiatives preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management) and ability to work with new technologies.
- Demonstrated ability with database query tools, automating testing tools, workflow diagramming, and reporting and retention tools preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work effectively when multiple priorities and timelines exist.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Pay Range:
$70,555 - $91,670This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
