Who you are

Metropolis is seeking a dynamic and tech-forward Business Systems Analyst to join our Digital Information & Technology team. In this role, you will be a key link between our business goals and our technical execution, utilizing modern AI tools like Claude and Gemini to drive efficiency and ensure every technology solution we build enhances the customer experience. The ideal candidate is a reliable, perceptive problem-solver who takes ownership of projects from initial research through to testing and delivery.

What you'll do
  • Leverage AI agents like Claude and Gemini to accelerate the creation of user stories, technical specs, and process documentation to reduce time-to-market for new features
  • Focus on how technology impacts the end user, ensuring a frictionless and efficient experience
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to refine platform visions
  • Take ownership of projects from initial research through to testing and delivery
  • Translate customer needs into clear, actionable solution specifications and system designs that technical and business teams can easily follow
  • Use AI to assist in creating high-quality diagrams and structured Agile backlogs with a focus on precision and speed
  • Analyze the viability of third-party web services and APIs to ensure successful integration into the ecosystem
  • Deep-dive into software applications and SQL data structures to resolve complex issues and support system stability
  • Assist in the testing and validation of new products to ensure they meet high quality standards
  • Research and stay current on technology trends, specifically around smart devices and scanning hardware, to support recommendations for future growth
What we're looking for
  • 3+ years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst or Technical Analyst role, with a strong foundation in elicitation, modeling, and requirement verification
  • Demonstrate experience or a strong desire to lead in using Generative AI tools like Claude or Gemini to improve individual efficiency and document quality
  • Possess proficiency in SQL Server and relational database concepts with the ability to comfortably discuss API integrations and object-oriented programming concepts with developers
  • Exhibit a proven ability to express complex technical concepts to people of varying disciplines
  • Bring a strong work ethic with an extreme attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • College diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
While not required, these are a plus:
  • Possess transportation, travel, or logistics experience, particularly regarding IATA specifications or baggage handling protocols
  • Bring experience with mobile hardware and cloud-based environments such as AWS
