We are seeking a highly motivated Business Support Officer to primarily support our Young Futures Hub and Adolescence Youth Service with day-to-day reception and administrative support.  
The Youth Service provides safe, supportive spaces where young people can engage in positive activities, build friendships, and develop new skills. Through after-school and evening sessions, they offer sports, arts, music, leadership programmes, accredited learning, and wellbeing workshops. The service aims to empower young people, build confidence, and reduce risk-taking behaviours.

About the Role

Your day-to-day tasks will be varied and rewarding. You’ll be the first point of contact on reception, so must have a friendly, approachable, confident and engaging personality, with the ability to build positive relationships and create a welcoming environment for young people and professionals. You will handle calls and manage enquiries with care and professionalism. You’ll support the team by minuting meetings, booking rooms and interpreters, drafting letters, and keeping our systems and records up to date. You’ll also help process registrations and referrals, manage purchases and invoices, promote our service through social media and play a key role in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least one year’s experience in business support, administration, customer service, or a similar role, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, customer-focused service.
     
  • A proactive and organised approach to managing your own workload, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
     
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
     
  • Digital skills and social media awareness
     
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, confident personality - able to engage effectively with young people, colleagues, citizens, and partner agencies in person, over the phone, and via email.
     
  • Strong administrative skills, with the ability to handle a wide range of office tasks accurately and efficiently.
     
  • A professional and discreet approach to handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
     
  • Experience in supporting meetings, including taking accurate and clear minutes.         

-          This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public               sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English, is an essential requirement for the role.
