The Business Support Manager oversees sponsorship fulfillment, reporting analytics, departmental budgets, and system integrity while supervising personnel and ensuring operational efficiency.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Sponsorship & Membership Fulfillment 

  • Manage organizational memberships and employee participation within industry associations such as IAVM, IAEE, and related professional organizations.
  • Oversee and manage all sponsorship obligations for the Division, and serve as a central point of contact for sponsorship fulfillment and related administrative coordination.
  • Maintain detailed tracking systems to ensure all sponsorship deliverables, benefits, deadlines, and contractual obligations are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, vendors, event teams, and external partners to execute sponsorship activations and promotional commitments.
  • Assist leadership with sponsorship reporting, recaps, and documentation for stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance sponsorship tracking, communication, and operational efficiency.

Reporting & Analytics Oversight 

  • Ensure timely preparation of occupancy reports, event performance data, and client survey results.
  • Review and approve reports prepared for executive leadership, board members, and external partners.
  • Direct the development of dashboards and reporting tools that monitor departmental performance.
  • Identify trends in sales and event data and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Budget & Departmental Support  

  • Lead coordination of departmental budgets, including preparation of initial and revised submissions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Partner with Finance to provide supporting data and context for budget submissions.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance budget accuracy, reporting reliability, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Support departmental planning initiatives, special projects, and cross-functional operational efforts.
  • Assist with administrative coordination for departmental initiatives, meetings, presentations, and executive reporting needs.

System & Data Integrity 

  • Maintain accountability for accuracy of accounts, contacts, and event records in the event management system.
  • Establish and monitor standards for data entry and reporting across the department.
  • Ensure integrity of system data is maintained and corrections are made promptly for duplicate or incomplete records.
  • Support ongoing system enhancements, reporting improvements, and process optimization initiatives.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR SUPERVISION

  • Participate in decisions related to the selection, promotion, transfer, pay and discipline of assigned personnel.
  • Orient employees to MCCNO policies and procedures and clearly communicate job duties and responsibilities so individuals may proceed with certainty in the performance of their positions.
  • Personally conduct or oversee training for new employees to ensure established procedures are clearly understood and followed.
  • Monitor the work performance of assigned personnel on a continual basis, conduct effective performance appraisals, and take corrective action whenever necessary.
  • Create a working climate in which assigned personnel are motivated to develop their skills and abilities and demonstrate by personal example the desired standards of conduct and work performance.
  • Administer MCCNO policies in a fair and equitable manner with regard to discipline, tardiness, absenteeism or insubordination and fully document all incidents and actions taken.

Qualifications Experience Required Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field; and six to eight years of progressive experience and/or training business analysis, reporting, or operations preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Experience in the hospitality, events, or convention industry preferred. Proficiency with CRM or event management systems (Ungerboeck or comparable) strongly preferred. Skills Required

  • Minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field
  • Six to eight years of progressive experience in business analysis, reporting, or operations
  • Experience in the hospitality, events, or convention industry
  • Proficiency with CRM or event management systems
