About the Opportunity
Amentum are seeking a motivated and versatile individual for a Business Support Finance role, the ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills in both English and Japanese, be highly organized, and demonstrate initiative in managing multiple tasks in parallel. The role involves engagement with a diverse set of clients across government and business sectors, including industries such as nuclear, defence, space, cyber security, and robotics. While sector-specific experience is not required, a proactive, self-starter attitude and attention to detail are essential.
In this role you will form part of the extended Finance Team, and although managed through the country team, the candidate would be closely connected to the finance function and will be trained, supervised and mentored within the function. The functions to be undertaken are:
Accounts Payable:
Receive supplier invoices in Japan
Translate invoices
Submit to accounts payable
Follow them through the system, acting as requestor on our system, training will be provided
Handle supplier queries
Supplier set up
PO management
Cash Management
Manage bank account, interfacing with bank in Japanese as required
Handle Bank queries
Cash flow forecast
Bank Reconciliations
Accounts Receivable
Support the preparation and issue of project invoices to customers
Oversee receipt of customer funds into bank account
General Ledger:
Manage ledger/books for Amentum Japan KK , using the SAGE software package
Month end accruals & prepayments if required
Reconcile books with our Costpoint system data & required journals
Prepare monthly Trial balance & variance analysis
Prepare tax return information
Consumption tax reconciliations & submissions via PWC Japan
Submit tax return & liaise with PWC
Maintain fixed asset register & depreciation
Manage the payment of tax bill locally
intercompany reconciliations
Minutes & submission of AGM post financial return (TBC)
Payroll:
Post journal & account reconciliations
Timesheets:
Manual postings from Costpoint system to Sage system at month end – following an existing process used elsewhere in the company.
