About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a well-organised experienced and resilient individual to join the Children and Family Services as a Business Support Assistant to work as part of a team in the provision of administrative work within the support service area

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To work as part of a team in the provision of administrative work within the support service area.
  • To deal with incoming and outgoing telephone calls & emails, liaise with teams, across the service and to facilitate the greeting of visitors, all necessary to the efficient functioning of the Service.
  • To process administration processes of data inputting within the service areas 
  • To undertake general office duties e.g. file management 
  • To accurately enter data onto a range of computer-based systems to support the requirements of the service.  
  • To upload information to our in-house database in an accurate and timely manner.
  • To be flexible on taking on additional tasks, willing to offer help to employees and treats co-operation and support for colleagues as a top priority.

About You

To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:

  • Have recognised Academic Qualifications e.g. 'GCSE', 'A' Levels, Vocational Quals, Professional/Further Education Quals in relevant area. NVQ 2 in Business Administration or equivalent. Or an equivalent level of relevant experience. 
  • Have good computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, with the ability to use spreadsheets. 
  • Be able to give evidence of establishing and maintaining manual and electronic admin systems. 
  • Be able to evidence a good level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be able to have a full understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality
  • Be able to produce accurate work to deadlines.
  • Be able to work effectively as a member of a team.

Skills Required

  • Recognised academic, vocational, professional, or further education qualifications in a relevant area, such as GCSEs, A Levels, or equivalent experience.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience.
