Business Support Apprentice

Location: Coatbridge

Contract: Apprentice Fixed Term, Monday to Friday – 8am – 4.30pm

Salary: Offering the nationally agreed apprentice pay rates, plus excellent company benefits. (you will be paid for your normal working hours plus study time)

Mears North Lanarkshire are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Business Support Apprentice to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in administrative processes, supporting the delivery of critical services within a fast-paced environment.

About the role:

An enthusiastic apprentice who will work under the direction, guidance and supervision of an experienced mentor to support the delivery of excellent refurbishment, repairs and maintenance service, whilst working to achieve a number of skills and qualifications.

The employee will be working based out of our Coatbridge office. The primary responsibility will be taking customers calls. This is done individually but there is a team around for support and advice throughout the working day.

Accountabilities:

  • Receiving inbound calls from customers/service users

  • Sending and responding to email communication

  • Logging and investigating repairs.

  • Completing assignments – apprenticeship. (2 hours a day provided towards working on assignments)

  • These assignments will be customer service based and will often where possible relate to the work they are currently doing within their job role.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • A positive and proactive attitude towards learning and development.

  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Willingness to work within a team environment and support colleagues.

  • Be able to establish and maintain good customer/client relationships

  • Understanding of the functions of Microsoft Office 365 – word, excel, outlook
