About the Team / Role
WEX is currently looking for a Business Solutions Specialist to join our Global Risk Operations team.
This is a great opportunity for someone at the early stages of their career who is passionate about data, analytics, technology and automation and wants to develop their skills within a global organisation.
As a Business Solutions Specialist, you will provide technical and analytical support across Global Risk Operations, using tools such as SQL, Python, Tableau and Power BI to help modernise existing processes and reporting.
Working closely with senior analysts and key stakeholders, you will help identify opportunities to reduce manual processes, improve reporting and develop scalable, self-service solutions. You'll also play an important role in ensuring our data and reporting remain accurate, reliable and compliant with relevant governance and regulatory requirements.

How you’ll make an impact
Support the identification of manual processes and operational bottlenecks and help develop automated and self-service solutions.
Clean, organise and transform raw data into structured and usable data sets.
Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and reporting using Tableau and Power BI.
Use SQL and relational databases to query, analyse and validate data.
Use Python and other scripting tools to support data manipulation and analysis.
Produce and maintain operational reporting, KPIs and management dashboards.
Analyse data to identify trends, discrepancies and emerging operational risks.
Support the automation and modernisation of existing financial risk workflows.
Help identify opportunities to use AI, Generative AI and automation technologies to reduce manual activity.
Monitor automated and self-service tools, identifying and troubleshooting errors when required.
Support process improvement and re-engineering initiatives across Global Risk Operations.
Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for reporting and automated processes.
Ensure reporting and data processes meet WEX's data integrity, governance, audit and compliance standards.
Experience you’ll bring
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Mathematics or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience.
Previous experience within Finance, Risk Operations, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or a similar environment.
Basic working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
Foundational knowledge of Python, including Pandas and/or NumPy, or similar scripting experience.
Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and flag data discrepancies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A collaborative, self-motivated and results-driven approach.
Ability to work effectively and adapt within a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of SOX or similar regulatory frameworks.
Academic, internship or professional experience converting manual processes into automated workflows.
Exposure to RPA platforms such as UiPath or Power Automate.
Exposure to Generative AI, prompt engineering or LLM applications.
Knowledge of WEX systems and business processes.
