Business Services Representative II

Job Description:

As a Hospital Business Services Representative II, you’ll be at the heart of our hospital’s financial operations—ensuring patients receive exceptional service while supporting the accuracy and efficiency of our billing and revenue processes. Schedule - Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm

This is a hybrid position to local Montanta applicants only

• Post charges to patient accounts, prepare, verify, and send electronic and paper claims to third party payers, research incomplete, incorrect, or outstanding claims and submit claims with knowledge of all insurance plans and contractual arrangements affecting payments
• Investigate and resolve claims submission problems with third party payers and reviews new and existing third party claims processing information
• Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts, verify and balance cash and receipts and prepare regular deposits and process refunds to payers or patients
• Identify accounts with unpaid third party balances over set number of days and perform regular calls to payers according to protocols
• Handle all incoming correspondence from third party payers- Document all communication with third party payers in practice management system.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years of business office experience in a healthcare setting including billing and claims processing, insurance and CPT and ICD-9 coding or Certificate of Applied Science from a one-year Medical Coding and Insurance Billing Program, required
• Experience in understanding and usage of computers, including preferably knowledge of IDX or other billing/collections software, as well as the ability to learn applications relevant to the position, required

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong background in medical insurance and billing
• Experience with Critical Access Health and or Rural Health Billing

Physical Requirements:

• Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.
• Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
• See and read computer monitors and documents.
• Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
• May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$18.39 - $24.99
